2024 Schedule a little bit early

Post by ZooMass84 » Fri Oct 20, 2023 1:14 pm

Just looking at next year's schedule and we have the first 6 games vs G5/FCS teams. EMU at home to open the season which given that we lost by 2 this year, we MIGHT win that one. Then Toledo, Buffalo, Wagner. Toledo we'll lose but Buffalo sucks this year and Wagner is really bad. Forget the second half of the season Missouri, Miss State and Georgia are ridiculous.

Just keep in mind that football for UMass is a bit of a side-light. We're never dropping down to 1AA but we'll be good for a win or 2 or 3

Umass fans have ZERO right to use the word SUCK to describe another program - ZERO RIGHT.

Exactly. We wish we were as good as Buffalo this year...or any year.

If we had a AD who wouldn't schedule P5 body bag games in the first half of the season where the star QB gets hurt for the next 5 games we would be 6-0 to start this season........just the way I see it.

I just said it on the other thread but I think the minimum wins for Don to continue to 2025 is 5 wins total (4 FBS wins, 1 FCS(Wagner)). Anything less and it's probably time to move on from both Him and possibly Bamford. That's a reasonable expectation given it being Year 3 for Don and with the schedule, it should be attainable.

Or, if we had coaches that were smart enough to realize the risk of continuing to play an injured QB, that might be helpful. Hard to pin this on Bamford...

Can you be serious for once? At best we could be 3-3 with those difficult MAC road games. 4-2 is probably a pipe dream (as in smoking a pipe full of PCP). 5-1 or 6-0 is not in the realm of reality.
