I am hoping they don’t go to the American. Can’t make there this year and we have a bunch scheduled with them. Wouldn’t want to lose the chance to get there.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2023 3:36 pm Discuss. Also another one folks should try to get to... amazing experience.

The stadium there is pretty incredible tucked right in the middle of campus on the shores of the Hudson. A lot of cool breweries and restaurants in the Hudson River Valley area as well.

Im a solid 60% that I am going. I actually think we will make this one competitive and could win..Army will be 2-8 and licking their wounds from LSU

I went back in the 1AA days.. about 3 minutes into the game I was overwhelmed by the experience and I was rooting for Army.. if you haven't been.. you have to go. BTW I think we only lost by 7... closer than any game since.
Re: 2023 Game 9: @ West Point
Depending how healthy we are, think there is a 60% probability we win this one. Be interesting to see the betting lines and ESPN prediction probability.

I take back my call for you to be in the athletic department after reading this. How can you give a 1-7 road team a 60% chance to win? This is an insane prediction. There is no way Umass will be favorite in this game.
Re: 2023 Game 9: @ West Point
60% probability of a win? Holy shit Maz ?
There is a rating service call Massey - their projections are not number for number in line with Vegas, but it gives you a general idea of how the game looks and their overall analytics are pretty solid by 5+ games into a season): I use this service a lot for Money Line bets (just picking the winner) and have been pretty successful.
UMass is rated #133 out of 133
Army is rated #99 out of 133
As of today Massey give Army a 94% chance of winning and a margin of 26.5 points (that is not necessarily the line). I am guessing the opening line will be somewhere between Umass +16 and +20.

I like to know why my posts for this game are being deleted?
Re: 2023 Game 9: @ West Point
Probably should check how strong the Troy defense is but they shut out Army and Taisun company can score points.

Anyone close enough to drive to the Army game should go. I went several years with a couple of friends and it is quite a pagent.

If you have not been before, plan to make a full day of this, not just the game. With the kickoff at noon, you want to be in the line of cars rolling in by 8 AM. You need to make your way to The Plain before nine. There are shuttle busses.

3 HOURS PRIOR TO KICKOFF
Cadet Review on "The Plain"
One of the time honored traditions of a Army West Point game day, a full-dress cadet parade takes place on "The Plain" three hours prior to kickoff (weather permitting) for every home game.
3 HOURS PRIOR TO KICKOFF - BLACK KNIGHTS ALLEY OPENS
Black Knights Alley is the Fan Fest that runs along Mills Road, between Michie Stadium and Lusk Reservoir. Black Knights Alley features live music, inflatable's for kids, food and beverage, beer tent, face painting, autograph tables with members from various Army West Point teams, a different interactive sport every game, tailgate show, as well as other vendors. Black Knights Alley is open until kickoff; however the tailgate tent remains open until the end of halftime.
You can do your own tailgating. The last time we went we were set up next to one that UMass (Athletic Dept.?) was running. That area is down hill away from the stadium, but, again, there are shuttle busses.
Post-game you can head to Fishkill for a selection of libations and dinner if nothing in close works.
PS: Whatever amount of clothes you think you need for that day's temperature, up your game by quite a bit.
