^ I think it has to be at least 5 next year. 4 won't show enough progress.

If there is another FBS program that has been as bad for as long as the Minutemen, please let us know.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Really thought they'd come out out today focused, aggressive, and ready to end the year with a big win. But another slow start, playing from behind, and honestly except for a couple guys, they looked like they were ready for it to end. Disappointing season even with the 3 wins

^^ Northwestern lost 34 in a row (1979 to 1982).

Prairie View A&M lost 80 in a row for the FCS record.

After watching another uncompetitive loss to UConn at the FBS level, I am a proponent for us dropping back to FCS Level (the former I-AA level) as the football games were much more competitive and enjoyable. It was nice being a big fish in a small pond with the opportunity to play for a National Championship each year. In 2008, Division 1-AA UMass was averaging nearly 16k in a 17k stadium as the local interest was there for I-AA to see the likes of undrafted NFL player Victor Cruz and 2nd Round NFL pick Vladimir Ducasse. I might be wrong, but it seemed like we produced more NFL Players at the Division I-AA team than at our present FBS level and yet at a higher level I can’t tell you on our current team who actually has NFL potential or will be drafted. I wish I could see the 1998 National Championship team play against this current team as I think know they would blow this team out as the talent was immense with future NFL players Marcel Shipp, Kole Ayi, Kerry Taylor, Khari Samuel, etc. More scholarships and TV exposure has not led to a more talented team. The reality is at the highest level of college football that only a few teams are actually playing for the National Championship every year while the rest of the FBS are playing for a No-One-Gives-A-Shi? Bowl Game. As Albert Einstein once said “The Definition of Insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results.” Let’s accept this will not work out as the price tag is not worth it for the prestige of being a third-rate FBS team with the hopes we someday might (though not likely) be a second-rate FBS program.

The most intensity from this game has been the twitter feud that the collective guy has against anyone challenging him. Showing off like a total clown.

At least they've somewhat muted the DJ. I could go through the play by play but no point. UM was outplayed and outcoached today. Great crisp day and setting for the season finale in the happy valley between two old yankee conference rivals - UM played some good D but O couldn't maintain a drive or maintain ball security. Chasing points. inevitably the trenches failed both sides - Not able to consistently run/protect or stop runs/pressure the QB.

Reluctantly agree w/DD

The Band needs to play some more crowd pleasers and more formations and fun -2 boring little mermaid songs and the alma mater kind of sucked. And the UConn band was there -they should have done a combined half-time segment w/some fun music - twist and shout / alices restaurant / jingle bells - C'mon people lets up the game !!! POWER AND CLASS w/350 musicians means you blow the doors down and get the crowd revved up = not play disney little mermaid

Still a lovely day.

3-9 and we beat the Vegas over under on wins. I know it sucks to lose but NMSU and Army were great wins
A win is a win in Vegas but can you really celebrate when the season o/u is 2.5 and we finish 3-9?

NMSU was our best win and UConn was our worst loss. Based on the overall resume of the season, does this team finish closer to the best win or worst loss?

I’ll start the voting my saying we are a true 3-9 team and the UConn loss proved it. Looking back at the schedule and how it played out, we had 1 guaranteed win, 5 guaranteed losses, and 6 winnable games where we only went 2-4.

The mark of a good marching band is remembering watching every halftime, thoroughly impressed, forty-plus years later The best performance remains the sinking library formation.

Quann wrote: Sat Nov 25, 2023 1:23 pm So if puma was healthy all year we’d have 6 wins right Maz? The offense is so pathetic today.
yes including today. his fumble and interception both a result of him unable to tuck it and run with authority 8-10 times a game.
I can’t tell if you’re serious or not

Delusional
Im serious. did you even watch the game? Two plays before Puma fumbled he did actually scramble for a first down and if healthy that was going to be 40 yard gain and maybe a TD as there was no body on that side of the field for UConn. He is not really a pocket passer so you end up with things like pic 6s. The best game we had was the first game and there is no doubt in my mind the offense would have gotten better and better to the point where 5 tds+ per game would have been the norm.

I concur. Where it is clear that the team is vastly improved and on the right track it remains disappointing since a bowl game was in reach.

the season came down to one play.. Puma's 8 yard scramble to the 1 yard line vs Auburn. That play ruined the season and there is really no other way to look at it. Next year, i do think Haston will be a viable option as backup QB.

Hoping there are not too many defections. I missed the senior day festivities, so not sure who is leaving for sure.I would have loved to see Haston yesterday. Puma tougher it out as UConn gave him some lanes to run and he couldn’t really do it. He had two runs that could have been game breakers if he was healthy, and he barely made them positive plays due to his mobility issues.
