We are favorites at home.
Spread is -1
Over/Under is 55.5
The talent is there and I hope that they are extra hungry for a win this week during practice.

I'm just preparing myself to have another heart breaking loss. Must win is an understatement.

I've given up both forecasting the weather and what will happen on the field this season in Amherst. Both have been stormy and cloudy.

Forecast is looking very, very nice. Low 70s and sunny for kickoff until another tropical storm comes in and ruins itdennisdent wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 5:22 pm I've given up both forecasting the weather and what will happen on the field this season in Amherst. Both have been stormy and cloudy.

Are we really talking about the weather on Monday again?Quann wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 7:26 pmForecast is looking very, very nice. A "must win"..... Ha: This is laughable - I am not picking on you Quann - this sentiment just strikes me as funny.
I understand the comment - the teams needs this for morale, and to give an otherwise desperate fanbase something more than a moral victory etc... Good feelies is just not enough...
But outside of platitudes a "must win" for what?
- They are not in a conference to move up in
- They are not making any bowls
- They are firmly planted in the bottom 10 regardless of the outcome
- A win here adds nothing to their chances for a conference invite
Two weeks ago people were speculating this team having 4 or 5 wins before October - Lucy pulled the ball however and she strikes the Umass football program again.
I know... I know - I am an asshole for saying this stuff out loud, but FFS this team still sucks.

You're an asshole for many things, this post is not one of them.
With that said, you answered your question already for why it is a "must win." It doesn't need to be a "must win" for ALL of the reasons you state above, just for any individual one of them. And in this case, it's all about internal morale and the fan base, and frankly my own sanity. I stand by my "must win" comment in the 1st post of this thread.

Did you know that a cow has more in common genetically with a whale than a pig, even though a cow and a pig seem more alike?

It's not like the weather made an impact the last 2 home games. What a weird topic to bring up!Camby4Life wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 8:48 amAre we really talking about the weather on Monday again?Quann wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 7:26 pmForecast is looking very, very nice.
