Game Five: EMU
Re: Game Five: EMU
Wow Casula, brilliant play calling!!!
Re: Game Five: EMU
This is like Tecmo Bowl where you have four plays to choose from. I’m not saying we have a surplus of playmakers but it’s just so elementary and unimaginative.
Good effort nonetheless.

Don't understand with Max Longman out of the game that we still run the same plays.
Go UMass!!
Re: Game Five: EMU
bad decision to hand off on that last play.. oh well we all know we lost because we dont have a good enough QB. Defense played well and I think we have the makings of something good once QB issue is solved. I did have to chuckle when there finally was a long completion and then the WR basically tackled himself.
Re: Game Five: EMU
Absolutely predictable one-dimensional offense. They take a timeout to come up with THAT as their 4th and 1 play??

While not being the best, Gino has shown he can throw it a little.. they can't pass because they don't call passing plays. And we lost because of a bunch of dumb penalties and an unimaginative OC

Re: Game Five: EMU
I’m not going to kill the whole team because a lot of guys played really well, defense as a unit included. Nothing even to say about the play calling in the 2nd half, besides that big gain on the first drive which was the best play of the year. Embarrassing otherwise.
My biggest takeaway is they dominated the first half, hit some adversity with that terrible PI on 4th down, and then they fell apart. 2 sidelines penalties could have cost them the game as well.
They play more bad teams and they’ve shown they can hang with the bottom of the barrel. They should win at least 2 the rest of the way. Short of that is disappointing with the softest schedule in the country.

Agreed campiotti has shown he can make some throws. Casula needs to figure it out and get a little more balanced.TheInsider wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 4:31 pmWhile not being the best, Gino has shown he can throw it a little.. they can't pass because they don't call passing plays. Re: Game Five: EMU
Why don't they do like Brady and the Pats would do on a 3/4 and one. Go under the center, no signal calling, pat the center on either cheek and run in that direction. Always worked for the Pats so why will it not work for us.

Re: Game Five: EMU
Because if you never play under center, it would be pretty obvious
Re: Game Five: EMU
Totally agree on the effort. I feel a little better about the future than I did three hours ago. However, the inability to throw the ball with any regularity, to at least have the defense thinking about it, I don’t think we *should* win anything. We basically have a less imaginative, less explosive service academy offense.Worcester_To_Amherst wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 4:35 pm They play more bad teams and they’ve shown they can hang with the bottom of the barrel. I don’t mind his calling pass plays, it’s the packed in lines and then try and run it up tue middle that I find mind boggling…probably worked in Ann ArborTheInsider wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 4:31 pmWhile not being the best, Gino has shown he can throw it a little.. they can't pass because they don't call passing plays. Re: Game Five: EMU
If you told me before the game that we would have the ball late in the 4th down a td, I’m not sure I’d believe it.
I think there’s definitely been improvement, really wish they would cut down on the self inflicted wounds

The highlight of today was no QB switching and Dzuro coming in to play when needed. Using Dzuro has Alex Miller written all over it after last season when he started for Miller.
Second best was not seeing the confused, fat assed Casula's on the sideline. Brown must have sent him to the booth. He still stinks!
