tulane game

I'm going to the game. Any ideas or recommendations where to pre-game?

Doing some internet searches for game predictions. Saw one that predicted 56-21 in favor of Tulane, saying UMass doesn't have the firepower on offense to keep up. Hoping for closer than this, and not sure how I'll feel if we lose by 35 points....

I don't see us giving up 56 points.. Coach brought in some good pieces and some guys that can play. I'm looking for a UConn/Utah State result... 28-14

I’m looking for a Georgia Southern 1998 type game from the defense. 5-6 TOS and two scores lead to a huge upset.

That was based on Coach Numbnuts.........he had a TV in every room in his house. No wonder we got blown out every game, wish he did more reading. We've got Dr. Blitz now.

It'll be interesting to see how the players adjust to NOLA in September, hopefully it's not too humid for them. I know a lot of guys are from the south but they've been in Amherst for a few months now. I'd like every game besides A&M to be competitive this year and see some Ws. QB play is going to determine how many wins they get IMO. Without an improvement from last year we could be looking a 1-2 wins. Improved QB play could get them 4+.

Above all- make it a game and stay healthy. UConn had a great showing against Utah St but lost their QB and WR1 with serious injuries.

I was at one of Don Brown's road shows a few weeks ago. Someone mentioned that Tulane was favored by about 30 points. Don's response was "Over my dead f'in body". I have confidence we won't give up 55. I am just not sure on the QB situation until I see game action.

Before the game, stop in to Molly's at the Market for a few, say hey to Wu the cat for good luck, next Coops for fried chicken, and rabbit jambalaya. You won't regret it. Just up the street from Molly's. Pat O'briens at night for dueling pianos and sing along.

Initial reactions:

Lots of ORs at QB.....

No Billy Wooden on DL

No huge surprises on OL

I think Wooden is coming back from injury so he may just get some plays. I expect him to be much more of a factor in the future. It's amazing how even just on paper this 2 deep is so much better. I expect it to play better even on the fact they will actually get coached and there will be a game plan.. I can't understate how bad the coaching was last year.. somehow Bell who was a P5 coordinator but never really called plays at the P5 level.. then when he did, his offense was historically bad.. gets a P5 job.. when our new OC calls plays for a D2 team and they light it up and go to a NC game.. then.is an analysts at Michigan where many attribute a lot of the success to him.. is the UMass OC.
