No. There have been many before.

Really ? I don't recall any 4 star commitments and I certainly don't recall "many" four star commitments. Can you please name all these previous 4 stars that I'm misremembering? I recall a highly rated transfer RB under Whip but he never got on the field.

With Pope, Roberts, Paradis and Taisun it seems ike Coach Brown is knocking it out of the park - those look like 4 immediate impact players - 3 on offense. GO UMASS :D

Wasn't the rb Woodley a 4 star, and there was a dB I think too, Norwell or something

Pope seems like a high upside gamble that you have to take.. super high rated out of HS that never really panned out. If he's a miss then whatever.. but if he hits, he could provide a lot at that position.. oh and wasn't Bradley and Rudolph both 4 stars out of HS?? I think that puts us at 6 guys that we're HS 4 stars in the last 2 years

We have not landed then out of HS. Breneman, Boykin, Tyler Rudolph, transferred but were 4* in HS.

This class has four who were ranked as four stars out of HS.

The 247sports.com page shows no 4* recruits that came in as freshmen. Woodley was the highest rated freshman recruit at 3* with a rating of 0.8584. None of this year's freshmen are even that high. Some of the transfers, however, have numbers we haven't seen before. Pope was a 4*, 0.9656 coming out of high school. That's off the charts for us. As someone mentioned, well worth the risk for the upside potential.

Thanks - Woodley is one of the players I was thinking of. 4* .9656 I think Pope is the highest we've had transfer in and overall this looks like the best transfer class we've had. Hopefully that upside potential materializes on the field. Kudos to Coach Brown, Rory and the entire staff.

On Casula now to show everyone he’s better than we think.

Good call I forgot Haston. I don’t think he’ll be in the mix for opening day starter as a true freshmen but he seems like a great get for UMass.

I think I saw someone say he’s not enrolling early for Spring semester. If that’s the case he’s looking at a redshirt year I’d guess, barring injury to the other 2.

Haston redshirting would be incredible. I still see him as our QB of the future but it looked like almost all schools did not recruit him as a QB because of how athletic he is. One year under his belt studying the practiced and college games would be a very mature play and understanding on his part.

Wondering if they are bringing in 3 to go with the 5 returning because they don’t have any quality O-line and the QB’s will be getting their clock cleaned on a regular basis. Just wondering 😁
