Who cares anymore, there is the transfer portal. Most of these kids are just not that good.

Exactly!!!!!

URI had better football players at just about every position than UMass did today. Other than Merriweather, not one UMass offensive player was better then their URI counterpart. URI was starting their third string scholarship RB, UMass doesn't even have one! URI was better at every defensive position, other then Wooden.

I think this will be my last UMass football game for a while. No way to justify the cost, even with the awesome postgame show by the band.

Or brag about how tickets are “as low as” $23. That should be the price for the chair back seats.
UMass Football: 22-3 at home when I was a student.

URI... better team.. better coach... better AD
This really is a failure of the administration more than anything. To be this far into it and to be no better and maybe even worse starts at the top.

Yup. Two free game tickets with every $100 parking pass. And as an aside,. Starting Lytle wasn't the answer

I didnt see the game but just reviewed the box score and play by play. The hallmark of bad teams and bad coaching is giving up big plays at the wrong time and that is what looked like happened. Our Safety play has been horrific all season.

I was formerly a Bell supporter, but only because I think he needed a fair chance and all he had to do was go 3-9 this year. That wont happen even though I think they pull one out next week.

UMass was behind 7-6 when I tuned the game in on the radio while driving to hang out with friends…one of which was a classmate from UMass. One of the first topics discussed was much UMass football sucked.
Sad to lose to an FCS team on Homecoming…by double digits, no less.
Hey, URIne only scored 35 points. I guess that’s a moral victory of sortszzz :| :( :?

I just feel terrible for all the players on this team. I have little doubt that they are working their tails off in practice, the weight room, and the class room. I wonder where their heads are at. This has been a devastatingly bad season, and it doesn't appear that there's any light on the horizon to bring hope.

Delay of game penalties to start the game, turnovers on the first series, missed tackles by the defensive backs…….am I missing anything?
You forgot to add pointless onside kick with 11 seconds left in the half. That call made me have a flashback to the fake punt inside their 20 on 4th and long Bell called in his first year at Army. His tenure has been filled with pointless calls.

Agreed, at some point the players must have realized their coach is not putting them in a position to succeed on the field.

I wouldn't waste my time at a game if it were free...including the tailgate. There are better ways to spend 4 hours: napping, yard work, work work, jabbing yourself in the eye with a sharp stick, beating your head against a brick wall, etc...

He's gone now Thank God. That's all Bell was good at: meaningless trick plays.
