Game 8 2021: at Liberty

I started going to games back in the 60's. I had season tickets for 40 years before moving south ands have watched all of the games since. This is the worst FB team I have ever seen at UMass. Why do head coaches insist on calling the offensive plays? Coach should change his offense to the style the SF 49'rs did with Montana, short passes 7-8 yards and move the ball down the field. I have to agree with you guys that are calling for him to get fired.

Going since the 70's and this is by far the worst coached UMass team I have ever witnessed! Even in the wins this team stinks!

I also went to games for over 40 years until we moved.The next two games against Rhode Island and Maine will tell us if we are even competent against 1-AA teams .

Bell should be fired after this game and Reid named acting head coach with Miller running the offense. I bet there would be a big change in the play calling...

This has to be some sort of record. To receive the opening kickoff and be down 14-0 1:14 into the game is impressive. There aren’t many bad teams out there that can execute that to perfection.

Why do I do this to myself?

The TD that made it 55-10, the defender fell down after trying to do a one-handed arm tackle and a second UMass guy trips over him…and the Liberty guy walks into the end zone way too easily.

I was listening to the game while I was out around kick-off. UMass was set to receive. I stepped out just long enough to return a disc to a Redbox. When I got back into the car, the announcer says, UMass is off to an atrocious start-Liberty is ahead 7-0 only 16 seconds into the game.

Yet when I got home, I turned the game on anyway!

Things could be worse. You might be the guy/gal who's job it is to come up with new headline verbs for each football loss on the Umassathletics website. Today's verb is "Falters". UMass Falters at Liberty 62-17. I was kinda thinking "Falters" might be more like 62-51.

actually in a few of games that i've been to this year there was a very good student showing. The only game there wasn't was when they limited the number of cars and 5 beers PP to the student tailgate.. they didn't show when that happened
