Game Six: UConn

Post by jpatsfan » Sun Oct 03, 2021 12:12 pm

Well here it is. Not really sure what to say or what could be said. This is beyond a must win.

The Toilet Bowl: UConn by 21 toilet bowl brushes!

No doubt the Globe will be out to Amherst for the game with a hit piece or two...

Opening line is UConn favored by 2 in Amherst. There's nothing more to be said except:

Dub this the "Don't Prove Max Page Right Game"

If we lose this in a bad fashion, run the Walt Bell nuke GIF, and not in a good way.

Shaughnessy will gladly jump on that train. And if we do lose, the worst part will be that he'll be right.

As bad as UConn is, I thought it would have been more to be honest.

I told a friend I would take him to the pillow fight. Is it safe to wait until gameday to get tickets or might there be enough visiting fans where this game could be a sellout.

^ There will be the largest crowd of the year because (1) it's UConn, and, (2) it's Band Day, but sellout? Ah, no.

May have an extra ticket but like Old Cage said there should be plenty of extra tickets. Gave away 4 flex tickets to the DAV.

A quote from the UConn coach. The epitome of "coach speak". He clearly hasn't been watching the same team we have for 5 weeks.

Lou Spanos on UMass: “Offensively, they do a good job moving the ball… Defensively, the sound on defense, they make some big tackles.”

Let me add what he really meant:

Lou Spanos on UMass: “Offensively, they do a good job moving the ball(backwards)… Defensively, the sound on defense (so quite in the stadium that you can hear them), they make some big tackles (the two nose guards are 330lbs).”

Not sure this helps, as the replacement moved the ball against Vandy:
