The taxpayers couldn't care less if UMass plays FBS football (or any football for that matter). As other's have stated this just isn't big-time college football territory.

Does anyone even see Walt in Western Mass? Does he even care about the community and the area as a whole outside of the football team and his salary?

The fact that football is not participating in the Sports Luncheons tells you all you need to know.inthescoop wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 5:39 pm Does anyone even see Walt in Western Mass? Does he even care about the community and the area as a whole outside of the football team and his salary?
Re: Game Three: CCU
Kinda sad that the post-game discussion has come down to whether the coach has made an appearance at the 4-H fair. I think even the worst predictions for today's game had us scoring a touchdown.
Re: Game Three: CCU
UM football has the highest % of its budget paid by student fees IN THE COUNTRY. Not a taxpayer issue.
Feeling entitled is JUST a feeling...
Re: Game Three: CCU
I'm sorry but this program is a joke. We have FBS players and high school coaches. You cannot run this program on a two buck chuck budget and expect to compete. This program needs to get serious about being an FBS program and get into a an conference.

Bell and Bamford are state employees--it is a tax payer issue:

Re: Game Three: CCU
This has nothing to do with budgets, the northeast, yada yada yada. It’s the fact we hired some kid that’s not qualified to even be an FCS head coach. His offense was a joke at FSU, he’s proven nothing as a coach.
Re: Game Three: CCU
Agreed and that's why we suck week in and week out. We have high school coaches coaching our team. But what really needs to change besides Bell being shown the door is the AD needs to go as well. Say what you want about him hiring Carvel. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Bamford has got to go and McCall who has no business coaching in the A10 has to go and Bell has to go if he loses to ConnU.

Re: Game Three: CCU
Thank you! 1000% correct! He has zero leadership ability!!! Football teams take on the personality of their coaches and what is this team's--confused, lost, out of their league, UNPREPARED. Four games and two of them they have to call a timeout before they even make a first play on offensive to start the game!!!

1 win saves his job. It’s probably Maine.jpatsfan wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 9:09 pmAgreed and that's why we suck week in and week out. We have high school coaches coaching our team. We can dump on Bell all we want but he didn’t hire himself, this is on the AD.

A few years ago Coastal Carolina was inits first year in FBS and won in Amherst...in that short period of time they are ranked and we are still a laughing stock
