Game two: BC
Game two: BC
Well someone had to start it. First time BC in Amherst since 1982. That's about the only positive in this match up.

Re: Game two: BC
I was at that game 1982 (I was young ). Doug Flutie was the BC QB and a lot of snowballs were thrown in the BC direction, as I vaguely remember. UMass played well but were overmatched. The team showed a lot of pride that day, hope they can do it again...

Re: Game two: BC
Know the game is six days away but there seem to be an awful lot of tickets out there....
is it the covid scaring people away (Fair if so)
Is it boycotting a losing program
Is it BC fans who are NOT going to travel to see a blow out?
will umass fans stepppppp up?

Not so much "boycotting" as fans have just been beaten down over the last 10 years of losing and there really are no fans left
UMass fans will not step up.
Wouldn't surprise me to see announced attendance of 10k
Re: Game two: BC
Doubt it’s COVID keeping people away. More like Walt Bell’s “coaching”.

Re: Game two: BC
Opening line is BC -37, what a joke this program has become.
Re: Game two: BC
The Pitt coach called our game a "scrimmage" . . . At -37 the chance to get embarrassed at home is inevitable!

Re: Game two: BC
To quote the judge on My Cousin Vinny," are you on drugs." Fifteen of the 20 sections are unavailable and will say over 13k tickets are sold. Generally speaking football tickets sell close to game time as the weather plays a big role and casual fans are just that, casual and make the decision at the last minute. The home side has 1 non prime section, $30 seats available. The Visitor side in the sun has mostly prime seats available, $35. There is also some restricted parking rules as no game day parking tickets and in advance are $10. Game day with no paring tickets you have to park at the Mullins Center lots or further away.PreecherJenkins wrote: ↑Sun Sep 05, 2021 4:36 pm Know the game is six days away but there seem to be an awful lot of tickets out there....

FLOSPORTS or some other streaming outfit is supposed to stream the UMass home games. Does anyone know how to subscribe to it? I have searched without any luck in finding their location. I like to have it set up before the game on Sat.

Thanks. I think I have it set up right.

Just so area folks don't spend unnecessary $$: this one is on NESN+.

Re: Game two: BC
I am very confident of a BC route in our second exhibition game.
Re: Game two: BC
In a sense yes, half the schedule, 6 teams received top 25 votes and BC is one of those teams. Toledo is a very strong team so that's 7 strong teams. Our competitiveness in these games is for gaining experience. After the Eastern Michigan will start to judge. Eastern Michigan is preseason pick to win 6 games, middle of the pack so it will be a better measuring stick. Granted we will be a underdog, but let's see what happens. Boston College is more excitement about have a great game day atmosphere, see old friends, getting back to campus, tailgating, the game of course and the students and band.
Looking forward to see us live for a nice day, despite being seriously over matched.
Go UMass!!
Re: Game two: BC
I don't profess to know that much about Coach Bell's coaching acumen but I do wonder why our best athlete(Zamar Wise} a dual threat QB can't get into a game in the 4th Qtr of a 40+ point blowout? I also wonder why I can't wear WHITE after Labor Day!
