Wait... you have a kid going to college soon? You don't say....
That was a rhetorical question... we know you have a kid going to college soon, you bring it up all the time.

I have mentioned many times that my son works in Vegas for about 18 years now. He is working at Mandalay Bay as a front desk manager in the casino hotel.PreecherJenkins wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 2:56 pmHold on Berkman's son works in Vegas, NO WAY!!!Camby4Life wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:46 pmWhich kid has more mentions on this board over the years? ^ If you see Kyle Wilson, tell him we hope he's a better poker player than a basketball player.

Wait, what did he do?! That's a flashback name. Zoo careful on the bender there, don't want you to get locked on the roof top of Caesar's palace after blacking out.
Re: Conference Realignment
Missouri State moving to CUSA, probably solidifies Western Kentucky there as well. Time will tell if the MAC moves to 14 teams. Illinois State and Rhody are two possible teams with basketball history. Albany has potential in joining the MAC and being in the capital with a decent media market. Close to UMass and a bus trip.
We'll have to see what happens to Missouri State soccer if it stays in MVC or joins as a MAC affiliate and be the 6th team for a men's soccer auto-bid.

C'mon Steve - you are better than this.
Re: Conference Realignment
I would put Temple, Western Kentucky, Liberty, Old dominion, East Carolina, Army, and Navy on the MAC radar. Good chance the American conference and CUSA are forced to merge after AAC loses its best few schools to the ACC opening the door for the MAC leap frog into 6th or 7th behind SEC, B1G, Big 12, ACC, and MW (SB). at the very least a 3 way tie with Sun Belt and AAC/CUSA.eldonabe wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2024 11:33 amSo now MAC is gonna load up on basketball only schools?Steve81 wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2024 10:46 am Missouri State moving to CUSA, probably solidifies Western Kentucky there as well. No eldonabe, not just basketball.
URI has been doing well in FCS, but their stadium was terrible. However, they have been given 65M by the legislature, with 42M towards replacing the east stands. The other side is restricted by the Ryan Center, but their is space in the south end zone for a football performance center with hospitality suite and terrace like UMass. Also URI AD was a former UMass football player and acting AD.

KINGSTON, R.I. — The University of Rhode Island is planning a “major fundraising initiative” to support an $84 million renovation project that involves enhancements for Meade Stadium, the outdoor track, and press boxes and stands for its baseball, soccer, and softball fields.
Director of Athletics Thorr Bjorn said URI President Marc Parlange, as well as state leadership have agreed that for the campus to host and run Division I outdoor activities, renovations are crucial.
The athletic director added, with the updated facilities, the school hopes to be able to better recruit student-athletes.
Go UMass!!
