2021 Season
Re: 2021 Season
Let’s see how we do against URI and Maine. If we cannot best average FCS teams maybe some here will realize what an awful hire Bell was is.
A successful AD is someone who find a competent up and comer. Bamford has not done that. Football and men’s basketball are the potential revenue producing sports. Do not expect us to be Alabama in football, but we were beating good teams under Whipple and were, at least, somewhat competitive most of the time. Now we lose by 50 or so points every game and there is no accountability.

Agree van. While I think the System president and chancellor need to be in the same boat re: support for football, they have a lot more on their plate to worry about. If they can't beat URI and Maine, this is just a bad hire by the AD

Crap- no bowl invite! I thought we were shoo-ins for the Tailgreeter Cure Bowl, the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl or maybe the Cheez-It Bowl. I know it was an outside chance that we'd be invited to the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl but I was hoping.

^Love some Cheez-its and with Popeye's no longer sponsoring a bowl might be my new favorite!
Re: 2021 Season
Too bsd there's no such thing as the Matzo Bowl. I'd even bring some chicken soup.

Re: 2021 Season
I'm hoping for an invite to the Manute Bowl. Unfortunately that would be a tall order.
Re: 2021 Season
Funny how many poke fun of the non marque bowl games but will get excited about the NIT.
The big difference between the two is most NIT games are played at a local team venue. For myself going to a bowl game would be a nice event and winning would match the excitement of making it to MSG.

Funny how it continues to be a Football vs Basketball thing

Re: 2021 Season
It's a basketball thing against all UMass sports thing as the MAC is equal or better for almost ever sport except basketball. You and others with off hand derogatory comments are the ones with the making it a thing. Will call always you all out on it every time as my post was about a comparison between non marque bowl games in general to NIT games. In response to others derogatory comments regarding football bowl games on the football board!InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 2:51 pm Funny how it continues to be a Football vs Basketball thing
