Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

To answer your question, like recent basketball seasons - show me - Walt Bell has to prove it! I'll take progress.
Both sports have frustrating games and basketball hurts deeper since they have talent.
Football as a sport bears no resemblance to basketball: one great player can turn a basketball team around; football takes a team or nucleus. Hoping for one win this season. EMU or UConn or URI/Maine???

That is some tough schedule for where we are now; a character builder for sure.

With the pieces we’ve brought in I’m pretty excited for the season. Give me 2-4 wins and be competitive in some games we aren’t expected to be and I’ll be happy.

ESPN just came out with an article ranking all 130
FBS programs.

UMass came in ranked 129 out of 130.

Walker worked with Daniel Jones while on staff at Duke in 2018
He also started his career at Mississippi State as a GA working with Dak Prescott among others

He worked for Neal Brown at Troy which is a big plus! This team really needed new O-line, RB and QB coaches. All seem like really good hires, much better then the coaches they are replacing.

Has the budget for assistants been increased in an attempt to improve the coaching staff?

Home football against BC and UConn would have dream of mine when I was an undergrad in the early 2000s. That's amazing. Hopefully fans are allowed this fall.

Hopefully we will be back to live sports by September - it would be great if this season leads to home and homes against BC and the sled dogs.
