agreed. Not fair to anyone except the "coaches" who don't have a clue what they're doing. This is a boondoggle and just a way to employ guys masquerading and pretending they are FBS or FCS or NAIA football coaches.

At least our kicker didn't miss a single PAT.

Don’t forget the part of picture that includes Blue Chip recruits from 2015-2019 that shows Georgia having 173 and Massachusetts 2.
The picture also shows Georgia having the highest Per Capita recruits at 34.6 and Massachusetts is at 0.01, good for 43rd (last for states that had any). Also in the picture is Georgia at number 2 with the highest % of HS players recruited by D1 schools, right behind Florida......which is connects to Georgia and if you look in the corner of the picture, you will see that Massachusetts has never had a 5 star recruit. If you are looking at a picture, it is best to look at the whole picture to get a true appreciation of what you are looking at.....

Funny.

And this COVID Odyssey for more Fall 20 opponents that are also in FBS continues, or are we onto random FCS games, where we need to pay them?

In either case, we do not look competitive as of now on Offense.

And our Defense was absolutely stellar: shutdown corners..........NOT. No secondary only gave up 41 points (38 in 3 quarters). They could have scored 77 if they wanted to. They pulled Werts in the 3rd quarter.

Yes, the play calling left a lot to be desired but the most disappointing unit to me was the OL. That is our most experienced unit and was supposed to be our strength. They couldn't run block or pass protect.

However, I'm not freaking out after this game. It was our first game and it showed. GS is a good, not great team but they were playing their 4th game and they looked so much better prepared. I'll give it 1 more game and look for improvement in game planning and execution.

We should have scored at least 10 today, maybe more. You have to make field goals under 40 yards. Also, Johnson had a pretty easy TD pass to Edwards if he just put a little air under the ball instead of throwing a dart that was picked.

Did this team improve at all last season from the first to last game--NO! It got even worse--zero improvement. Did the team improve even a little from last season--NO! If they play Army, FAU, Liberty the games well be even worse then this one. It would almost be best if this is the last game of the season. The play calling today was pathetic, just like last season. Any UMass FCS team over the past twenty years would beat this year's team.

To me Bell is playing UMass admin/supporters by using freshman as an excuse to give himself a longer rope. He's building the program, blah, blah. He's too nice a guy to get fired like CM did but honestly he needs to go.

Rant almost over, but after 40 years of watching UMass this by far the worst the program has ever been at the coaching level.

I've been calling him Molnar 2.0 since the 2nd game last year and people gave me shit about it on the other board.

Hey, a positive: Melvin Hill (I think) made #4 on ESPN's top college football plays for his leaping one-handed catch and run. Very confusing because the ESPN talking head called him Taylor Edwards.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Embarrassing, pathetic and no improvement.

Bell is Charlie two. Incredibly fit, both did not call plays as offensive coordinators and both incredibly over their heads. Unlike McCall he cannot hire one coach who can turn this around. Not sure how we can afford to keep him
"You are what your record says you are" Coach Bill P.

Last night was an absolute disgrace and it starts with Bamford and his hiring of Bell. From what Mike at FightMassachusetts said was Bamford wanted a “superior recruiter” so he chose Bell...who is now beating out the likes of Bryant and LIU-Post for recruits. And imagine this, for the second time in a decade UMass hires an offensive coordinator who didn’t have play calling duties and...shockingly they suck at coaching or leading a team. But hooray the culture is being built, guys are getting good grades and “crushing it” in the weight room yet get bullied on the field while Shadeed posts selfies of himself making screamy faces so at least we have that going for us!

Whipple got this program back to a respectable level: win 4 games and be in the other 7-8 and even went blow for blow with some SEC teams. If he wasn’t the guy moving forward that’s ok but you have to bring someone in that’s going to close the gap and win those close games Whipple couldn’t. Instead Bamford opts to burn it to the ground and rebuild with a coach who makes Charley Molnar look like Nick Saban.

Bamford needs to go he can’t make a good hire if his life depended on. Verdi sucks, Bell sucks and McCall sucks and would be out the door if it wasn’t for Bergeron and Tre. Outside of Carvel Bamford has missed on 3 of the 4 most important hires for an athletic director yet acts arrogant and like he’s above reproach like he’s hanging banners left and right. It’s time for an overhaul of the athletic department Bell isn’t the answer in football and Bamford isn’t the answer leading this department

Let's not forget the non-coaches in the dept he has fired (who by all accounts were doing a good job) to bring in his people. A couple of those were umass alum.

My favorite stat on ESPN2 was comparing our OL to the Tennessee Titans. We were taller and heavier !!!! And couldn't block to save our lives!!!! Fallon looked like Danny Dimes yesterday!!!!
