2020 Season
Re: 2020 Season
Two Friday games, hope it increases the odds on being on TV that can be dvr. ESPN+ is nice, but can not dvr. Need to leave for a pool tournament so will miss part of the game with Marshall
Go UMass!!

You’re joking, right???? Bell is totally incompetent or has been paid to kill the program. We’ve lost all the games by an average of 40 points and it’s unclear to you after 1.25 seasons? With exception of Akron which was practically the worst team in FBS or FCS.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 8:38 am
It's been watchable. I wish I've seen better results but it's been watchable.
All joking aside, UMass Football (and Basketball) will almost always been jobs that are only for OJT. We're a stepping stone. Until they hit on the right person that can be successful and finds UMass to be their home, it's always going to be like that. Bell might not (or won't be) that person, but it's hard to tell after what will likely amount to 1.25 seasons in.
BTW, we actually had a competent coach but saw fit to show him the door: Mark Whipple.

No, I was not joking. I do appreciate you last comment though as it shows the real reason you hate the current coach.

You don't need to DVR as you can go back to watch them again through the service.

Thanks, know it's possible, but never looked. The dvr is so easy no real searching, ya excuses. Will have to look into this sometime. thanks again.
Go UMass!!

Radio Broadcast question: I'm sure it was barely listened to, and not sure anyone else has even noticed but it seems that WATD Marshfield isn't carrying the UMass games anymore? I've tried the "listen live" feature at game time and they're playing classic hits of the 50's and 60's.

Need to go to WEEI 105.5 to listen livephotoman wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 5:26 pm Radio Broadcast question: I'm sure it was barely listened to, and not sure anyone else has even noticed but it seems that WATD Marshfield isn't carrying the UMass games anymore? No UMass football broadcast outlets in Eastern Mass. that I'm aware of. The 105.5 FM signal doesn't reach outside Western Mass. I assume you can still access the live stream on the UMass Athletics website.

In the age of internet streaming, smartphones, and Bluetooth, radio coverage doesn’t really seem to matter anymore. It’s more symbolic than anything else. Although it irks me that UMass Hockey’s flagship station barely covers the Amherst area, I remember that I can easily call up the postgame audio on my phone before I leave Mullins.

Re: 2020 Season
The FAU and Liberty games are a week apart. In an interview aired during the halftime of the Marshall game, Bell said that UMass would have to test thrice before starting up practice, which takes about a week judging by what happened after the GASO game. Does that mean UMass will play Liberty with almost no practice? Would it even make a difference?

Why don’t they just stay down south?UMass02 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 8:29 pm The FAU and Liberty games are a week apart. Re: 2020 Season
Excellent point. I don’t know how they can afford that, especially after the furloughs. Maybe the game check could offset that? I know, wishful thinking on my part.
Re: 2020 Season
My last sentence: (BTW, we actually had a competent coach but saw fit to show him the door: Mark Whipple) is NOT the reason I hate the current coach. The reason I hate the current coach is we lose every game by approximately 41 points. And Athlon Sports think we will lose to FAU by 45 points. I don't know about you, but we have become since Bell's first game vs Rutgers NONCOMPETITIVE. We score in the first quarter, then decide to take the next 3 quarters off. My own crystal ball shows 0-12 next year, then Bell is shown the door via buyout. I don't think he can win 1 game over the course of a 5 year contract; 1-11 last year; 0-4 this year; 0-12 next year.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 8:35 amZooMass84 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 6:17 pm

Unless you're driving in the car, in which case radio makes a ton of sense...UMass02 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 2:54 pm In the age of internet streaming, smartphones, and Bluetooth, radio coverage doesn’t really seem to matter anymore.
