Thanks McKinney. Juice Stand that was kind of anticipating of a response. Mind you there are 6 football games and 18 basketball games. Anticipated response - The stadium is bigger, hence also posting percent full. Hate the percent full stuff as see it used frequently on the A10 board by all the teams with gyms under 5k.
Any time.
Tobit regression is good for adjusting for censored data like that. For a place with high capacity utilization, it can help estimate how many people would attend if the stadium was expanded. It's often used for things like stadium expansion viability studies.

The Navy athletic director is a former UMass assistant AD and his father is who the practice field that is now the field hockey stadium is named for.

I went to high school in Amherst with Chet Gladchuk. He was always a class act. Hope he remains loyal to this roots.

This quote doesn’t sound too promising if we’re looking for him to help our case: “"Whoever it is has got to bring value and I don't know who's out there that does," Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk said. "Is there anyone that can enhance the situation?"”

Does anyone have the explanation of how UCONN with successful mens and womens bball teams (thinking ticket sales and donations) and the payout that the AAC gives them, is losing $40M a year? Where is that money going? $40m is a lot of money for a school that is not paying their coaches SEC money.

No clue... not sure if this is helpful in answering your question:

^^ Thanks. Found this as well. UCONN support of athletics went from $3.6M in 2007 to $34M in 2017, while contributions went from $12.2M in 2007 to $5.7M in 2017. Total cost for this period jumped $21M. Still can't figure how they spend all that money.
UMASS is burning thru cash as well as the school popped for $28M in 2017. This is eye opening.

Excessive travel in the AAC for all sports and the known higher costs of a FBS football program that isn't selling 50k tickets per game. Other than Temple, nearly all the opponents for programs like field hockey have to fly to places like Dallas, Orlando, Tulsa, Wichita, etc.

Per "Saturday Down South" (reliability? IDK), JMU is in the conversation mix for replacing UConn in AAC football. Any thoughts?

I think it's pretty unlikely. That's a pretty big jump for an FCS school. Now JMU has been very competitive at the FCS level, so they might be able to do it... but UMass was pretty damn competitive too and, well...
Even if they could bring a competitive team to the AAC, do they bring $7M in media value? I'm doubtful.
From a UMass fan perspective, if JMU were to get into the AAC direct from FCS I couldn't help but feel disappointed and perhaps question our own FBS journey. UMass joined the FBS/MAC ostensibly to put itself in a better position in the college football landscape. So to see a former CAA foe leapfrog ahead of us wouldn't exactly be great.

This would be a kick in the nuts. But, I don’t think it is as far fetched as it seems. JMU is essentially a directional/lower level public university in the idea of a USF or UCF. It is a southern school. Investment in football is probably more than UMass. Counter-no media market, other sports.

JMU moving up, and into a solid conference (not P5...) is not far fetched at all. They have positioned themselves very well over the years. Certainly much better than we did leading up to the move.
