2019 Season
Re: 2019 Season
The ability to flex unused season tickets is a pretty good thing so we have that going for us.
UMass Football: 22-3 at home when I was a student.

Re: 2019 Season
I guess almost 10 years of losing and the "rousing" start this year merits NO thread on this weeks opponent, Coastal Carolina. Tomorrow's game will be a test for the stout DL to keep Coastal's rushing yards under 400!
Re: 2019 Season
Can’t see us winning a game. I’m sad.
Re: 2019 Season
I’m not even sure UMass could win an intra-squad game.

Just curious...and for entertainment purpose only.....
Anyone following how UMass is doing against the spread this season? I'm also thinking the "over" has been a wise choice?
Edit: Never mind, there is this: http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-foo ... ts-amherst

Re: 2019 Season
I’ve seen some people on this board make comparisons between UMass’ defense this season and UConn’s defense in 2018. Here are the numbers:
2018 UConn - 617 yds per game (282 pass, 335 rush), 50.4 ppg.
2018 UMass - 485 yds per game (210 pass, 275 rush), 42.9 ppg.
2019 UMass as of today - 556 yds per game (278 pass, 279 rush), 51.8 ppg.
UMass is 110th in FBS in pass defense, last in the other categories above.
UMass’ passing defense and scoring defense are similar numbers-wise to last season’s UConn team.

Re: 2019 Season
This week, those defensive numbers might improve given how wretched Akron is. This and UConn are likely the only two chances for a win the rest of the year.

Re: 2019 Season
As the season is now four (4j games deep, do we envision any Redshirt decisions being made on any Redshrt eligible players who have already played the maximum four (4) games. They can play any four (4] games and still take a Redshirt season, so these decisions can be ongoing going forward. With a 0-4 season that some feel will become 0-12; is it best to keep playing OC Johnson ( I know he is the leading receiver), Josh Wallace and those others who have already reached four (4) games or is it in the program’s best interest to save the year?
Just wondering.......

Re: 2019 Season
Holy crap, Joseph Norwood has left the team...are they going to have enough players to finish the season? That’s 3 players who have left the roster in 4 weeks and of course we have the suspension of Thomas-Ishman. I never imagined such a cluster. Wow.

Re: 2019 Season
The allowance to play 4 games and still redshirt are what have allowed these guys to leave like this. These games don’t count towards using eligibility.
Re: 2019 Season
Did not think it could get much worse and wake up to this news. Norwood was a bright spot and needed in the worst way.
Crap, crap, crap!!!!
Go UMass!!
