Where do you see that? I don't see anything on the 247 site that supports that.minutefanjsf wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 7:31 pm I think he has a shot at 4-7 wins this upcoming year. The cupboard is not bare and he is already offering JUCO linemen.

What we need for next season is to have an alum or student to have a large bell and ring it every time we get a first down and touchdown and field goal.

Would have loved to experienced The Drake. It's crazy how the town's bar scene has changed, even in the last 18 years... never mind 30 or 40 years.

Mike’s Westview?
Loved that place.
Re: Walt Bell
Doesn't UCONN do that? I heard them use a ship's bell at the U-Game this year.

For those that enjoyed Mike's Westview, it sorta still exists as The Harp.

I graduated in 1996 but always heard how great the Drake was. Can one of you old timers indicate what made it that enjoyable? Then back to football. Thanks,

As an addendum to 11's question, how many of us tripped and stumbled down the stairs at least once?chapter 11 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 07, 2018 12:49 pm I graduated in 1996 but always heard how great the Drake was. WR Jesse Britt announces that rather than go through with his announced decision to transfer he will remain at UMass. Things trending well under Coach Bell.
Re: Walt Bell
The Drake was a classic college dive bar: Subterranean, dark, dingy, CCR playing on the juke box, coin-operated washers and dryers in one corner, and GIQ's of 'Gansett for 35 cents. I became a regular when I was 19 or 20 - the bouncer never checked my ID. My friends took me there on my birthday and when he asked how old I was turning, I said 21. He laughed his ass off. Things were a little different 50 years ago!chapter 11 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 07, 2018 12:49 pm I graduated in 1996 but always heard how great the Drake was.
