That’s if there was a buyout. His contract says if he leaves and gets a job he owes $75k. My guess is him getting a job means no money to either side.69MG wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 4:43 pmA few sources are stating that this could save us a decent amount of $$ toward the buyout, but that has not been confirmed. Anyhow, I wish him well.KDKA

Hopefully it's not a DK situation where he signs a contract for $1 and forces UMass to pay him to coach at another school.

Re: Whip Gone?
His contract said he owed us money if he resigned and got a job somewhere, but they were working on renegotiating his severance. If he didn't get a job there would be a buyout. I can't imagine we make him or Pitt pay us. Also, moving on from a G5 indy HC to OC at and ACC school is no where near moving down from an A10 HC to NE HC. He will probably make about the same as he made if not more as OC at Pitt as he did as HC at Umass.

His house in Amherst went on the market this week...... https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/115- ... 6027_zpid/
Looking to get almost double than they paid for it in 2014.

What I learned is that my real estate taxes in New York are way too high.

The interior of the house did not look like this when they bought it.fenway617 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 3:07 pm His house in Amherst went on the market this week...... https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/115- ... 6027_zpid/

Major interior redo...
It took some months before they were able to move in when it was finished.

^ For 1800 sq ft? That is ridiculous.

Seems that way to me as well. Relator.com says the median price per square foot of houses for sale in Amherst is $192. That puts this house $250k above market. It's $115k above Zillow's estimate.
Not that it's any of my business.

Re: Whip Gone?
I work in Amherst and a coworker is looking to buy and remarked that there is a development with new construction houses where they are asking 700k for an 1800 square foot house. I haven’t spent time looking at Zillow, etc, so my information is anecdotal, but to me a new house far away from the center of town going for 700 means a completely redone basically new going for 600 doesn’t seem strange especially since it is near town.McKinney wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 9:33 pmminutefanjsf wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 2:07 pm That's not far off for Amherst especially if it is completely redone.Seems that way to me as well. Re: Whip Gone?
You are totally backwards: the "stronger and stronger USNWR rankings" came after the FBS move, not before. They concurrently increased, not the other way around. You never gave a reason for the "stronger and stronger" rankings. You are wrong again about the common application: it's a constant for ALL colleges. Then all colleges should be ranked #64. Major national universities in the AAU or High R1 universities play FBS football. Only exclusive private colleges can play 1AA or D3 football and be in the AAU (which UMass aspires to).econalum wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 10:44 pmHow about stronger and stronger US News and World Report rankings for starters? And applying does not mean attending. It is ALL about the Common App and h.s. students applying to many more colleges than when each college had its own application. This phenomenon alone explains why so many 'prestige colleges' only accept 6-8% of applicants - it is easy to send the application to "H", "Y", etc. as a 'why not?' to shut up hovering parents.ZooMass84 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 8:24 pmOut is state applications have doubled in the last few years or so, (to coincide with going FBS) yet you maintain one has nothing to do with other. Totally a coincidence!!! So what are your reasons for the increase?78 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 8:40 am ^^^
I do love how you continue to fabricate that the increase in applications to attend UMass is related to moving up to FBS. I’m not going to waste my time discussing why out of state applications are up, but can assure you it has little or nothing to do with FBS football. I want UMass to succeed in FBS and hope they hire the right coach and invest the proper resources to make it happen.

Watching Whip coach tonight makes me almost feel like I'm watching a first wife and remember the great times we had before she left me for a richer guy, eventually comes back, but the magic is over. Now I'm stuck with a young, trophy wife and our little kids, who are driving me crazy but I can't divorce her because it will cost too much!
