Nebraska is a bit of a gamble for him. Scott Frost is on very thin ice.
On the flip side, if Scott Frost gets fired, Whipple will be next in line to be the Interim HC.
I also think Nebraska was by far the best 3-9 team in the country - they lost a whole bunch, but they kept it close in basically every Big Ten game. I think Martinez transferring will be a blessing in disguise for Nebraska.

Is it confirmed anywhere that Whipple is going to Nebraska. I couldn't find any confirmations, only that he resigned from Pitt. Someone on twitter said the resignation was family related.

Nothing confirmed. Just a lot of speculation.

Leaving a program in good shape to go to Nebraska where Frost had one foot out the door is a head scratcher.
Frost took a $1,000,000 cut in pay and fired 4 assistants to keep his job. I would suspect Whip must have got a big package with several years guaranteed.

Probably... and possibly an eye on the top position.

There's a lot of speculation that Spencer Rattler may end up at Nebraska. So they might be able to turn things around in short order and Whip will have a 5* QB to run his offense.

Frost went for an onsides kick up 28-17 on the road at Northwestern..... Northwestern recovered (of course) and went on to score two unanswered TDs.....

..... BTW Northwestern has an impressive OL - Let's build one of those.
