Marc "Beetle" Bertrand of 98.5 The Sports Hub reports that Mark Whipple has agreed in principle to return as UMass HBC.

Press conference is indeed Monday afternoon.

From what you say, I bet he tweeted it and then decided to break it live on the show. Then tweeted it again.

You know how I love the Twitter.

Anyway, this is exciting. I'm a hoops guy first and foremost, but I think this is great as far as engaging recent alumni across the state. The timing is great as we move some games back to Amherst. I actually think the split home schedule might be a perfect fit for us this year.

I'm pleased to hear this too, but just remember, Whipple has been involved in failed negotiations before. I'll let loose with my happiness once it's a done deal.
