Re: future scheduling talk
Recent goings on in Newton could lead to more UM-BC football games going forward. New Balance is now the “Official Footwear and Apparel Provider” for all BC sports Except Football. Rumblings have football going with Adidas.....why you would split within your programs is beyond me.....Adidas schools favor other Adidas schools when scheduling, confirm by checking out Fall 2020 UM Football schedule...

New Balance doesn't do football. Maine has NB branded football uniforms but they're apparently produced by a different company.
Not sure if BC would really be considered an "Adidas school". We were Nike for a few more years in football (and hockey too IIRC) after the department switched to Adidas.

Apparel has to do with scheduling? Why? Seems like a coincidence.

It’s more than apparel, it’s branding. Adidas would rather see a game on TV that has two (2) Adidas teams than one (1).....the SEC opponent that UM has had the most games against is Mississippi State.....an Adidas school.....

I didn't realize Adidas-UMass had a relationship any more than any other supplier-client.TruBluMaroon wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 6:49 pm It’s more than apparel, it’s branding. Re: future scheduling talk
UMass and Miss St have a 3-game series because at the time the contract was signed Miss St was over a barrel and needed a game for that coming season. UMass got them to Gillette as the plus and set up two road games as well. It didn't have anything to do with adidas.TruBluMaroon wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 6:49 pmIt’s more than apparel, it’s branding. Does adidas prefer it when two adidas schools play each other? I would imagine off course they do, just like any uniform supplier would want their schools playing on TV against one another. But they aren't out here making future schedules
Re: future scheduling talk
Does anyone know what the story is with future games vs UConn? Im surprised something has not been announced yet in the realm of a 10 year contract.
Re: future scheduling talk
What? No date and time? How do they expect me to plan my schedule on such short notice?

UMass' home game from 2020 against Temple, postponed because of the pandemic, will now be played in 2029 in Amherst
Re: future scheduling talk
I'm surprised they still refuse to play us in basketball.

Revenue from the A10 is disappointing and does not merit staying

Re: future scheduling talk
Do we really only have 11 games scheduled for next year?

Re: future scheduling talk
Looks like it. But UCONN also currently only has 11 and we're not scheduled with them yet. Both teams currently have October 22nd and November 5th open.
Re: future scheduling talk
Both NMSU and Liberty have accepted all sports invites to two southern G5 conferences and remain on the schedule.
Think UMass is holding out on CUSA decision early next month. There's a preference by Marty Meehan and Swamy to stay in a slightly better bb conference and some extra travel expenses over the MAC all sports. Going for a football only is short sighted and will probably end badly.
Would not look to much at our schedule until CUSA decision is in and after UMass makes it's decision on the future of UMass sports.

Re: future scheduling talk
Curious what others think. I would like us to schedule games with JMU, ODU, Appalachian State and Georgia Southern in future years to go along with the MAC teams and UConn we have scheduled. There is history with these schools and since we don’t have conference rivals this would give the schedule a conference feel.

I think this would be awesome if they could make it happen.wmmmfan wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 5:28 pm Curious what others think.
