Tom Coughlin:
"Victor Cruz! What do we need anybody for? We've got Victor Cruz. How about the plays he made this morning, huh? I'm serious. He's made some outstanding plays. Yesterday, he was going by people out here. Hey, it would be a great thing, just keep adding to the group."

"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."
Another blurb from Big Blues' web site:
Ramses Barden and fellow receiver Derek Hagan each continued their fine camps with outstanding catches...Rookie Victor Cruz might have had the best catch of camp, a one-hander of a Rhett Bomar pass. Alas, he was already behind the end zone, so it didn't count. That prompted Webster to yell "long foul ball" several times, meaning the effort was for naught. Cruz had several catches inbounds.

Hey guys, I've been spedning alot of my time over the last week at Giants camp and I can attest to the outstanding camp our man Victor Cruz has been having. Especially last Wednesday, he put on an absolute show during the goal line offense vs defense portion of practice. Including one mindblowing catch against the 1st team that had the entire camp buzzing. That was the day prior to Coughlin making his most positive comments of Vic Cruz. However, with that being said, from my perspective I still think he's on the outside looking in in terms of making the team. While he was getting most his reps with the second team and 1 or 2 with the 1st team earlier in the week, that was when the majority of the top 4 or 5 wideouts were sitting out practice.
Yesterday, the G-Men held a white vs blue non-contact scrimmage in preparation for Monday nights preseaons opener vs the Jets. During this time Cruz saw most of his time on the 3rd string with a little on the 2nd when they went for 4 and 5 out. During the scrimmage he was barely thrown to or looked at. Giving me the impression that he still has some wor to make the team. However, with that being said he was 1 of the 2 guys they had trying to return punts. I did not see him on kickoff though. So again, from what I have seen I think UMass's own VC number 3 still has work to do to make the actual team, but I could very well see him on the practice squad if he chooses not to try to make another team.
With all that ebing said Victor has been an absolute pleasure to watch at camp and also very cool to interact with. I always give him the "Let's go Vic Cruz, UMass baby" call out when he walks by and he always responds positively and with a smile when he hears his old schoold name. Regardless of if he makes the squad MONDAY NIGHT SHOULD BE GREAT!!! Victor Cruz will be seeing a whole bunch of time on Monday Night Football and we all know the UMass connections we have on the Jets. It will be a great night for UMass football and the school in general.
