JH loves 250lb run stuffing LBs and a big Dline, totally opposite of Brown's defense. His QB at Maine put up huge passing numbers and never ran the ball. He has a good eye for coaching talent as he hired Liam to be his offensive coordinator at Maine away from UMass.

That is the Transfer Culture. They are not successful (usually) at their current school ( never their fault - not following rules, etc) and then someone recruits them (again) and values them and what they can contribute. They arrive at the new school and want to make the professional level still (might actually have been part of recruiting Part #2) and have to be a featured cog in the new machine for that to happen.minutefanjsf wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 9:34 amMy understanding is the culture did not hold talented individuals to high standards. That is part of the story as to how KLA left and Simpson was dismissed. Alex did a great job with the OL this year. Keeping him on however would likely make a culture shift difficult. Players who like the current culture might appeal to him if they don’t like the new vibes.
So…….they focus on themselves first and not on the team.
Add in NIL , where players are paid different amounts- unlike just scholarships, where they were all equal. So , if you want more NIL money, you need to be better as an individual and the whole selfish cycle moves forward.
I am curious what will happen to these players who don’t turn pro, but have been well compensated in the NIL world. How will they be able handle a pay cut that actually involves doing a full time job!
Enough ranting on a snow day…..

The entire women's team was also at the game, sitting 3 rows in front of me. They saw the men's team give away a game in the last 2 minutes just as they have done 3 times this year. A sad year for BB.minutefanjsf wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 9:35 am
Hairston and a few others were at the hoops game last night. Hairston likes it here, too.

I'm good with that. Stop the run, apply pressure, and make teams throw. Good DBs will eat that shit updennisdent wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 9:55 am JH loves 250lb run stuffing LBs and a big Dline, totally opposite of Brown's defense. Great point. These kids need to get an education. Even those with a legit chance of going pro are just an injury away from needing a full time job. Seems to me the NIL/transfer culture has de-emphasized academics.TruBluMaroon wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 10:20 amThat is the Transfer Culture. Re: Joe Harasymiak New Coach!
Please God, not another Charley Molnar/Coach Gomer ("Walt Bell"). At least JH cleaned house and got rid of Ben Albert (the "special needs Special Teams "coach"). I'm almost over the Liberty debacle.dennisdent wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 9:55 am JH loves 250lb run stuffing LBs and a big Dline, totally opposite of Brown's defense. I'm guessing the BC game is gone, dont know. Haven't seen the MAC schedule yet. We have Temple 3-9 at home. Then please, not 3 P5's again..........
