New defensive coach

Post by LS71 » Thu Mar 23, 2023 9:18 am

Another of Springfield Central’s coaches is leaving to coach at his alma mater. Julius Walker is joining Valdamar Brower at UMass. Hope these guys help do for UMass what they did for Central.

^^ Strengthen the D first and give up fewer points...that way they don't need to be as offensive....

Seriously, I like that Brown got both of these guys on board. Maybe they can help UMass achieve in D1 what Central achieved in MA and grow UMass football into a nationally competitive program that showcases homegrown...especially kids from the 413....talent! 8)

Obviously it's not going to happen. Maybe Casula knows where the bodies are buried. We we would need the 1985 Bears defense for the offense not to matter.

We would still lose 3-0 every game.

What, no defensive scores on the year?

I have no worries about the defensive side of the ball with Brown running this program. Offense is a different story, I have a million worries

Agreed, but the O still needs to be functional for the D to succeed. If we have another season of constant 3 and outs, the D won't ever have a chance to be successful.
