The Minutemen (15-11, 8-7 Atlantic 10) return to action Saturday, when they will host Duquesne at the Mullins Center for Senior Day. Captain Anthony Anderson, a senior point guard whose back has really troubled him, will not play for UMass, and Lappas indicated that the senior point guard will likely miss the remainder of the season.
"(Anthony) is probably done for the season," Lappas said. "It's not 100 percent, but there's a good chance."

That really sucks. After all he's given to this program he should not be in street clothes on Senior Day.

Jeez.....I wonder if playing 45 minutes a game up until recently may have aggravated his injury. Nice job Steve, ruining the end of Anderson's wonderful career here at UMass.

I ran out of hot water in the shower this morning. I think that was Lap's fault too.

C'mon.....it's clear Chadwick can play.....the team is undefeated with him at the point.......why didn't Steve try Chadwick earlier if he knew about Anderson's bad back??? There is clearly some blame to be laid on the coach in this instance.

Me too, it must be some sort of conspiracy.

I think the question that needs to be asked is what was Steve Lappas doing in both of your showers this morning?

Look, Lappas has said that Anthony's back has been bothering him all season. Are you guys saying that playing a full game of basketball every 3rd or 4th day doesn't have any affect on someone's back?? Don't you all think that if Anderson played maybe half that time each game, his back wouldn't be so bad that he is now done and can not even play in his last A-10 tournament?? Chadwick has proven that he can successfully spell Anderson in games, witness the team's record when Anderson was under suspension, if Lappas has "found that out" a little earlier, Anderson's back would not have been subject to playing all game every game as he did.

You might be right. But the key in that sentence is might. You really don't know for sure, but you spun the situation to more-easily fit into the anti-Lappas agenda. That's what I called you on.

And you are clearly insane!
You take your hatred, for the soon to be former UMass coach, a little to far.

Whatever you say Carrier.......you clearly know more than I. I'm probably just some dumb guy who doesn't know what he's talking about. Clearly you are better than me because you like the coach.

What is THE agenda? Where do I pick up the manual, and where do the meetings take place?

The funny thing is I always thought Kosty tried to be fair and balanced towards Lappas on this board when most of the rest of us were sent over the edge. Now that he's finally voicing his displeasure he's accused of being the Tom Daschle with an Anti-Lappas Agenda.

Perhaps there wouldn't be the appearance of some concerted and organized effort to ensure that at least one of a core group of regular posters takes every single issue to it's illogical extreme if it didn't happen all the time.
