Lorenzo Sutton
Re: Lorenzo Sutton
^^^ LOL @ myself re: my hyperbolic reference...
Hyperbaric
HBOT
3rd HBOT today...one more tomorrow may be enough.
I was in yesterday afternoon and we texted today.
The care where he is ... is amazing (that repetitive word here again)...
The post-op surgery follow, nutrition, pain management, social work, et al; all covered well...
Despite Lo being in pain yesterday when I arrived...
His team told him to tell them promptly re: pain, for meds; that he shouldn't play Hero.
He looked at me, smiled, and told me he is very happy.
He intro'd me to a male nurse there, who told me he was there in the '90s when Lo was first there; had left, returned, and recognized his name when he heard it this week...
I was at my tire place today...
The sales dude I see there is a UMie who is familiar with Lo's story...
I showed him a post-op pic of Lo, and he said that Lo looks better than he does...

Re: Lorenzo Sutton
That's a great thing you've done there signman. Not many people would do that for another human being that they're not related to. I give you much respect
Time to Win
Re: Lorenzo Sutton
Yup, very fine signman. Like hearing the stories and glad for Lorenzo.
Go UMass!!
Re: Lorenzo Sutton
This SM couple visited Lo yesterday afternoon...
tough drag-in for me, in pain re: a med issue... (OK now)
Lo said our visit was the nicest thing for him yesterday.
He continues to improve, but needs more time in the facility.
The original plan had him there 6-7 days post-op.
Today is Day 10, and I expect at least another week.
The issues with the "complication" from last Monday continue to improve and I expect will be fine, in time.
The HBOT treatments are done.
When he gets more work done to complement the already-done...it will get even more "amazing."
I told him "we" should target everything by years' end, if not sooner.
aside...
after the visit, we went to Tu Y Yo, Broadway, Somerville for an early dinner...Mexican.
The only Mexican restaurant anywhere in these vast surrounds we would recommend.
I have mentioned it prior in my Let's Eat thread...
as always, A+++, and $reasonable...
We took Lo there in March, before we all went to a Joe Louis Walker gig at the Regatta Bar.
Entrée suggestion: Tinga Poblana, recipe from their family back to 1890.
Tamales App a must.
Red Sangria very very good
Of note, a couple was at the booth behind me...it was early and only a few tables were occupied before more reg dinner hrs.
I overheard the dude of the couple tell the waiter, who we have known for ++ years, that he is from the SW/AZ; that outside the SW, this was the very best Mex restaurant he has ever been to...
If you decide to try it, go to restaurant.com and get a $10 Cert for $4; saving you $6 (comment for non-math majors).
<please do not turn this thread into a foodie...can go to my no-recently posted Let's Eat thread for that>

Re: Lorenzo Sutton
Once again, thanks for the update. We are all waiting for the day you can tell us that Lo no longer needs medical attention, if that is at all possible. Keep up the good work.
Re: Lorenzo Sutton
^ I would expect so, other than periodic checkups like all of us generally do.
I learned yesterday a.m. that the surgeon planned an additional op, for yesterday...
significantly less involved than the major op...
I went in and saw him around 2:10 pm...
They took him to surgery around 3:00 pm and I headed back...
He was done and back in his room @ 7:00, indicating the procedure went well...
We expect him to start back on food intake as soon as Thursday...
which is more excellent news.
Lo seems to be a balloon magnet.
His niece brought him one nine days ago...
Yesterday, I brought him a sports one, anchored by tying it around one of my toys, from the Jurassic section of my Toy Collection.
He just text me that an old friend sent him a plant with a balloon from FL...
A few more, and I think he'll have enough helium there to start dunking again.

Nice to hear good news. But seeing a post labeled in the middle of the night always scares me.

Re: Lorenzo Sutton
You and Mrs. have done wonderful things for this young man.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.
Re: Lorenzo Sutton
I generally do not post about personal stuff like this, but want to share this for all of you who helped with Lo, even if just your expression of kind & caring thoughts.
I just got this within the past 18 hrs.
"I'm just seeing this Ed and I would like to apologize on behalf of the person referring to you as the guy, I was Lorenzo's roommate for a year back in 1999 so I know his situation. All I can say is thank you for all that you've done to help Lo I know he can be a handful also so thank you again. You are and will be continually blessed not forgetting all the other's involved thank you all."
