Which is to say, it has more genuine relevance than any other poll anywhere. Whether or not it should be used by the NCAA is a discussion that would interest some and bore others. But as long as it is used as a guide during Tournament Selection and Seeding, it merits being paid attention to.

UMass' Non-Conference opponents went 5-1 last night.

Through games of 11/30, UMass is ranked #34 in the RPI.

Tonight's games:

Gonzaga (3-1) vs. (16) Washington (3-0) 8:00pm,
Yale (1-3) at Sacred Heart (1-3) 7pm

I found UMass' RPI to be #30 and SOS 95.

Not bad. I hope it can at least stay above 100 before the conference season, because (as usual) it's going to take a serious hit during A-10 play.

Zags really took it to Washington tonight. I no longer blame them for what happened against the Illini after watching UofI destroy Wake.

They scored 99 on a Top 20 team. I'm scared to death of Saturday. That game may actually be more of an ass whooping than at Lubbock last year.

I'd love to be wrong.
