Game 8, 2024-25: NJIT (12/1)
Game 8, 2024-25: NJIT (12/1)
UM returns home this weekend for NJIT, Sunday at noon.
Regardless of today's Harvard result, this is an absolute must-win. As of this writing, NJIT is 0-7, and seems to have a pretty putrid offense, at 58.7 ppg, which is bottom 10 in D-I. Their defense is in the mid-200s, and they haven't played a killer schedule.
They play at 4 today also, against Morehead State in a little MTE in Cleveland. ESPN+ has it if you're a true sicko.
The Highlanders were picked next-to-last in the America East this season, just barely ahead of New Hampshire, who we smoked in the season opener.
With this one going up against NFL Sunday, and the down streak that we've been on lately, this could be a very small crowd in Mullins. Still, get there if you can. Plenty of season left and the guys could use some in-person support.

Game is in 2+ hours and it’s pretty quiet here, after the losses last weekend I remarked to a friend that the NJIT game could look like a Gerlusen game at the end of his tenure crowd wise…am I going to be all alone?
Assuming everyone is healthy, I’m interested to see if FM shortens the rotation to 7 getting the majority of the minutes

Holiday Sunday going against NFL, could be less than a 1,000 there today.TheOFFSeason wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 9:42 am Game is in 2+ hours and it’s pretty quiet here, after the losses last weekend I remarked to a friend that the NJIT game could look like a Gerlusen game at the end of his tenure crowd wise…am I going to be all alone?

Any word on Malek and Worthy?
Hoping for same starters with Nate/Wilson/Muhammad subbing for guard/wing/center. Keep it simple. Should be similar gameplan to Harvard.
Re: Game 8, 2024-25: NJIT (12/1)
I actually think we'll see a good number of players get minutes today but, as OffSeason said, likely the lion's share for a seven man rotation. I also doubt we will see much of a crowd. I'll be tuning in on tv.
Hope to see the guards get some confidence and heat things up. I want to see Diggs and Nate get some confidence shooting the 3 and I'd like to see them move the ball better.
4Life, I think you mean Watson. Wilson was lost at sea by Tom Hanks. If we lose, blame him!!!

Yes Watson, last Wilson I can remember here is Kyle Wilson, still waiting on him to hit 3’s.
This game seems like a must win to keep any fan interest going from the diehards.

Ok, here we go with more humor:
What do you give to a sick bird??? ...
TWEETMENT!!!
That's what Frank and his staff are giving the squad after a rough start...

Umass -18.5. Does this count as a joke game?
Re: Game 8, 2024-25: NJIT (12/1)
Same lineup as vs Harvard. Frank says Malek was very sick but he's back for today. Worthy had a death in the family, he's here for the game today but has funeral later in the week.
Let's GO UMASS!!! Take down the Highlanders!!!

Sometimes I wonder if Rivera is near sighted. He can't see well past the foul line.

Whoa, just got home & turned on the game. Looks like 500 people there. Anyone actually there? 69, DoctorJ?

Starting to look like Worthy is gaining some confidence.
Interesting to see these early minutes going to Foster at the 3. He really needs to hit the weight room, getting balls yanked away but he has a nice touch near the basket.
