Maine has an interesting international roster and a UMass connection. One of their assistant coaches, Peter Gash was the lead assistant when he was here between 2017-2029.

Gash was the lead assistant during his stint at UMass where he was charged with leading all facets of player development. Through his attention to detail and ability to grow players, he developed Luwane Pipkins into the Atlantic 10’s Most Improved Player after his scoring average increased from 10.2 points per game to 21.1.

I belatedly discovered tonight's Hofstra-S.Florida game on MSG3, which my cable provider has sometimes. Watched most of the 2nd half. At the half, the announcers said Hofstra went up double digits early and shot 50% on 3s and 60% overall, while S.Florida shot poorly. S. Florida looked like a lot of big, athletic wings with a couple true bigs. None of them looked like they could shoot, with an offense showing little ball movement. Hofstra was up 20 coming out of the half and made it 30 minutes later. I didn't learn much about the Bulls. Late in the game, they did a lot of drive and dish and began making shots, cutting the lead to teens. but it was too little too late. Bulls played 10 guys, and all except the bigs were chucking up and missing 3s. Also missed most of their FTs and quite a few lay ups. Announcers said Bulls were mostly transfers, experienced older players, but didn't know how to play together yet. They played hard, but Hofstra ran offense sets they couldn't handle and shot lights out.

Tonight was also USF's first game away from home, maybe that was another factor.

wow - based on what I saw last night - I may cross the CT line and put some money on UMass! I think they win by double digits easy.

^ You should know better than to think like that. This is when a team shooting 24.5% from 3 comes in and hits 45%. I think they'll beat us by double digits. Maybe that offsets your jinx.

Game day, finally. I hope there isn't too much rust from the break and they can come out aggressive and get Cross and Cohen going early.

I could see big games from Rahsool and Robert Davis today as South Florida looks to stop Cross & Cohen. Regardless, I think UMass comes out ready and aggressive and puts together a good game and gets the W. Minutemen by 9

That was….quite the ugly half. Not much PT for DHS and Diggins in the first.
