So, I'm wracking my brain on where to rank Putney and Chaz Williams and who to knock off my starting five to get either one , or both, onto the first team. Unique skills, but I believe Alex would have had at least the heigth advantage over Chaz. Putney definitely also had unique skills.

Lou Roe. Nobody tougher, played bigger than his size. Gave his all every time on the court.

Lasme. That dude was an absolute machine to watch and had some of the bets defensive plays we've been able to enjoy. I appreciate the effort he put in on both sides, and the utter domination on the defensive side.
I'll piggy back on this one. Lasme was such a joy to watch. He came in so raw and developed into the A10 player of the year and 2x defensive player of the year. NCAA record tying 4 triple doubles in 2006-07, the only one to do it with points, rebounds, and blocks. He was awesome.

After a lot of thought, my choice is Chaz. There were more famous players (Erving, Camby, Roe, etc.) but he brought a level of excitement in what had been a dull period for a while. His 32 point, 15 assist game against BYU is my favorite in-person game. 105-96 in regulation is a hell of a game.

I think my choice would be Chaz also, with Ricky a close second. With Chaz, every time he touched the ball, I felt something exciting was going to happen.

If going for outside the box players and not the Lou Roe, Marcus Camby types, and then also narrowing it down to when I was in school….Rigo Nunez is the fan favorite. I entered UMass in the fall of 1991 and left Spring 1995. If star power is the way to go Lou all the way. In person vs Arkansas, Lou destroyed Corliss Williamson.

Herndon or Roe. Herndon was so exciting to watch. Jumping center at 6’3 and winning it, in the air grabbing rebounds in mid-air and dunking before coming back down. So many electric plays. Lou was just so solid, good things happened when the ball went inside to him. If he didn’t score, he was getting it to someone who did.

During the 1st half of the recent OT loss, at which we were sitting in court-end seats, Chaz's game in Europe ended and he couldn't find a stream for it.
It was pretty cool to be messaging updates of the rest of our game with him.
