Yeah, have to admit the same--GOAT status in my eyes. Though I may have been blinded by the very intense light.

Another bad loss from Kentucky last night at LSU. Calls for Cals job are getting stronger and stronger down there. I guess he only talks to the media at post game now and takes just a couple questions. His contract is enormous but the SEC schools seemingly never care

Cal for AD
Re: KAEO: John Calipari
Cal would be a great color guy for a big network. Very charismatic, well spoken & respected. He doesn't need the aggravation any more, he's loaded. Would still make some good change as a commentator
Time to Win
Re: KAEO: John Calipari
Kentucky (3) getting beaten by Oakland (14) last night has a lot of Big Blue fans up in arms, and they're not wrong. With the level of talent that UK continually stockpiles, can't lose to a team from the Horizon.
Cal is proud of his record sending guys to the NBA, and that's good. But his job as UK coach is, probably first and foremost, to win at UK. A little clip of some of the chatter in that regard:

Kentucky fans are high on the expectations meter, so their tolerance of season endings like this is starting to get short.

Re: KAEO: John Calipari
Any chance he wants to coach in the MAC?? He should go to tv at this point of his career
Re: KAEO: John Calipari
Calipari is probably fuming over Umass moving to the MAC after all he did to create a foundation for our program. but like Mr Bamford and a handful of his buddies on this board, they think it is a good move for our basketball program.
sorry John, for us tearing down what you created instead of investing money into out basketball program so that it could stay at the same level you created. Mr. Bamford just took the easy way out, as he couldn't figure out how to get our team to compete, and thus figured he would just move our team to a lower division so our record would look better.

Re: KAEO: John Calipari
Not sure if this is a bit or not... but I hate to break it to you, what Cal built was torn down a few years after he left.. may I introduce you to Steve Lappas.
Re: KAEO: John Calipari
all I am saying is that, there is no reason why we couldn't be where we once were in the A-10 and if we did, our team would be getting offers to play in even a better conference. So our heads of athletics let us down and did not invest enough in our program to make it happen.
It wasn't just the Lappas hire ( though he was the worse) its everything they have done even after Lappas. Mr Bamford has had his chance to correct the ship and has failed miserably with both our football and basketball programs ( the two largest revenue generating programs).

Re: KAEO: John Calipari
Back in our A10 heydays even Cal was recommending that we move up in football. He realized that it was football that would ultimately drive the bus.
