He's jealous because he thinks he's deserving of some sort of literary statue and knows nobody cares about his "stories".

Reminds me of the 90s movie The Paper and the editor's (Robert Duvall) rant about columnists:
I hate columnists! Why do I have all these columnists? I got political columnists, guest columnists... celebrity columnists - The only thing I don't have is a dead columnist. That's the kind I could really use. We reek of opinions. What every columnist at this paper needs to do is to shut ... the fuck ... up.
I vividly remember that hack Ron Chimelis too. He got a hair across his ass because he could not have special access to Cal since he was a big deal for the Springfield Newspapers. After that he went on the morally superior rants about Cal whenever he had the chance. What a tool... a "sports writer" who never played a sport beyond grade school rec in his entire life, but claimed to be an authority on D1 College basketball......![]()

^Or be like Frank Martin and stay miserable and simultaneously try to win
Calipari has always been a player's coach. He would never tell his players to come back to Kentucky/Memphis when he knows that they are NBA ready, and they are about to change their family's life forever. Players knew that and respected that but the fanbase did not like that he had to start over every year with new incoming freshmen. I'm bringing this up because Frank recently said that he told Matt to leave and take the money, and there are people who are puzzled or upset about that, but Calipari has always practiced that mentality - play for me and I will make you ready for the NBA. Unfortunately for Frank, it's more like "play for me, and I'll prepare you for a P5 school," which doesn't benefit either of us.

JFC. Does every thread these days has to shift into a discussion about Frank?
I vote no. Swim lanes, people.

Arkansas doesn't deserve an at large bid with a 8-10 conference record. I believe any team under. 500 in conference play shouldn't get a bid.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 12:33 pm Still doing a hell of a job.

I don't disagree. He's still doing a hell of a job considering the downs they went through this season.

Definitely. Cal can still coach. I don’t care what anyone says, he was a good x and o coach. Couple that with being one of the greatest recruiters of all time and that is why he is one of top coaches of his generation.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 3:48 pmskizz wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 3:34 pmArkansas doesn't deserve an at large bid with a 8-10 conference record. Calipari also turned the team around after losing what many Razorback fans believed to be their best player, Boogie Fland.
I'd say he is on the active coaches MT Rushmore

Disagree about the conference record. 13 of the 16 SEC teams are likely to make the tournament. Do you want the best teams or teams that happen to play in weak conferences?skizz wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 3:34 pmArkansas doesn't deserve an at large bid with a 8-10 conference record. Re: KAEO: John Calipari
So you believe a 6-12 Oklahoma and a 6-12 Texas in conference play are tourney worthy teams (based ESPN bracketology)? Yes they beat good teams but winning 33% of there conference is just not good. You're supposed to make your bones in conference play and they definitely did not.BR72 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 8:19 amDisagree about the conference record. 13 of the 16 SEC teams are likely to make the tournament.
