Rough loss, but hopefully they learn from it. They make their free throws and they run away with it. If Georgia Tech doesn't play like a bunch of 6th graders to open up the 2nd half, they probably run away with it. Truth is in the middle. I'm a broken record at this point, but I'm sick of the 10-3 OOC record to go 5-13/6-12 in the A-10. Win the next two (which I believe they will), beat Siena to get to 9-3 and then even a 9-9 record in A-10 play and I'll be very very happy with this season.

^ I would sign up for that in a heartbeat for year 2 of the the Frank Martin era. It would be nice to go a game or two over .500 in A10 play to get to 19 or 20 wins overall, but beggars can't be choosers.

NET rankings are idiotic. The fact that you are rewarded for 30 pt win vs a 15 pt win is ludicrous.. Just go back to the RPI

I hate to disagree with you, but if UMass was the better team, they would have won this game.

I thought we played hard most of the game, and most things went our way too. A couple of poor subs, a couple of short stretches of malaise, but overall looked good. Considering the travel involved, it was good to see the kids ready to go vs what we saw at Towson in the first road game. It was a winnable game. Free throws, free throws, free throws.

It was nice to see the Cross reversal go our way, sucked to see the goaltending reversal not go our way. I don't think either factored into the final result as much as the Free Throw issue did, but the Conferences/NCAA really need to work on this reversal of calls numerous minutes later thing. I believe in both cases there were numerous dead ball stops between the situations and when they finally reviewed it. That just doesn't make sense.

I agree that you are what your record is…but UMass team was better overall in terms of play, but had two short segments in the game where they made it easy for GTech to get back into the game with terrible shooting/passing, shitty defense, and horrible free throw shooting.

I am still mad about this fucking game. Which means that deep down I think we are a good basketball team.

1. Make your free throws,

2. Make better entry passes down the stretch! Cohen should not be making those passes

3. Capitalize on GA Tech's first half turnovers. 11 1h bumble bee turnovers and you only get 13 points.

4. TCU and Nevada are the best two teams in this eight team event,

I can't get mad yet. After watching a couple of our early games, with so many new players/frosh, I didn't think that we would be within ten of big name schools like WVU and GT.

We NEED one of the next two, if not both!

those segments where the lead is slipping away and there's no one to stabilize things was and probably will be a problem.

I understand why someone said the Matt Cross reversal went our way, but I might disagree. Late corrections shouldn't happen. Like the butterfly-flaps-its-wing effect, we'll never know what would have happened if Cross stayed in the game longer because he had 3 instead of 4 fouls. It's obvious that the goaltending reversal cost UMass 2 points, in that if a correct no-call was made (not made?) in real time, a UMass rebounder was all alone with an easy put-back for 2. And a critical one as that would have stemmed Tech's comeback.

I don't get how a team that has OK free throw shooters suddenly all go cold at once. Diggins made 14 straight to raise his season FT% to 90, and goes 0-2. Ndjigue and Cohen have poor FT%s and with Cohen it hurts, as he'll get to the line a lot. They both played very well, except for the FTs. Cross and Diggins played well enough to win and looked a little exhausted at the end. Hope they're OK for tonight.

How many freakin' times does gt need to blow by our guards before frank instructs them to sag off a bit? Right to the hoop and then to the foul line...

Will need some good games out of Curry, Davis, or DHS the rest of this trip . Don't think we can expect much from anyone else off the bench. Starters can't do it themselves.

Have a hard time feeling bad for the Minutemen; I have started my day in 21 degree temperatures and when Coach Frank and the fellas wake up, they will be in Hawaii😁

how many times did they get beaten one v one versus a high screen, remember one time Cohen was so far out of position to help that the bumble bee guard got to the hole.

That was me, and I was simply referring to the call and the reversal in relation to the other call and reversal - obviously having to take him out in that moment was a problem. And as such, points to the bigger issue that the conferences/NCAA need to address about these reviews happening in a timely fashion.
