Coach is doing a heck of a job with this team. With 8 freshmen and only 3 returning from last year he really has this team coming together. Going to be interesting watching them.

After every 3pt shot that Davis made he commented to Camby and Camby answered back. It was hysterical, he say something like, just the beginning, or I have more. He would point to Marcus and comment, it was great. It was like he was showing Marcus that he also will be a great player at UMass

One of the great substitutions that I have seen: WVU cuts the lead from 18 to zero. We are all in our "woe is us" mentality. Frank brings Cohen back, and our guys flip a switch and rebuild the lead. I thought were were doomed, but no.

I love it.

Is there a worse newspaper than the Republican?

There’s a HOF sponsored event in downtown Springfield, featuring UMass…and zero mention of the game in the Sunday paper.
They ran the score of the first game, but not one word about the UMass game.

There was a story on page 1 about the uconn women’s game tho…

Re-watched the game this morning. This team is gelling nicely and the Hawaii event will provide another solid challenge for them. I like this group a lot, seem like a great group of guys who like being together. I also like the comments from them regarding wanting to win for UMass and the fans.
Frank seems to be building a solid program we can all be proud of.

I also like this event, I hope it becomes a holiday tradition in Western Massachusetts and for UMass. I was in downtown Springfield yesterday morning and came across fans from the different schools. A definite college atmosphere which for Springfield was great to see.

No there is not. It is absolutely the worst news group in the country.

^ True, but my first choice is still to read the actual paper while I drink my morning coffee.

I’m old school that way.

LS and I are both from Springfield and went to the same high school, a year or 2 apart. We both remember the Sunday Republican when the Sports Section was about 12 pages and covered everything. Budget cuts and the internet have doomed the newspaper industry. We only get the Sunday paper now and that's so my wife can get the ads and coupons. It also gives us access to all of MassLive.

I heard that Matt Cross was sick during the week. Let's get him healthy for Hawaii.

Cohen was dominant. Cross was his usual “dawg”. Keon has settled into that strong PG role, Ndjigue is so composed for a freshman, Diggins had key moments and put up points the way many of us had hoped last season, DHS was solid and…well…Davis. Damn. Curry and Worthy played well also. Now the key will be to build on all the unselfish play and not hoist bad 3s in Hawaii. Felt like the team moved the ball so well - generally not a lot of selfish plays. However, think we’ve seen this movie before. Discipline will be critical to continuing to win. Go UMass!!!!

I grew up western mass reading the Republican, Daily News and Union, as well as the Holyoke Transcript Telegram, plus the NY Times on Sundays. I miss that but can't seem to justify the price, given that the internet is available on computers now

Really pleased to see the team come together after losing an 18 point lead.

Not surprised about no write up in the Springfield paper. Same as he in the Charlotte area paper. If a game is after 6 PM it don't get in the paper the next day.
