We don't have any way of knowing, but if a player told Frank he hadn't decided yet, they would have to honor him on senior day in case he did not come back. I would say the odds are in favor of those 2 leaving, but it's not a done deal (yet).

at this point, after the departures, I just can't be thinking about next season until we see who we get from the portal. I have little optimism right now but hope that will change with each new commit.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

The program is teetering. Fan support is twindling, there is little buzz, and we are stuck in dying league. Hate to say it, but the only thing that can save hoops is the football team. You all better hope Maz is right about the upward trend on the gridiron as a spot or two in AAC may become available and we need to grab one.

The Portal taketh away, but the Portal will also giveth.

Yeah, it's low-tide time in the morale department, but it'll be interesting to see what group the coaching staff can assemble. And all the scholarship guys will be Frank's guys, so they'll be fully bought into his system.

In good times, and in bad times, I will continue to renew my season tickets. Onwards, and hopefully upwards!

^ +1

We have short memories. We've seen worse but I admit it gets discouraging to not see improvement over a long span of time.

Yeah, the transfer portal is like telling someone "go ahead and kick my ass. I won't fight back". And then, when the person has punched themselves out, you pick yourself up off the floor and try to make the best of it.

Hopefully, this is the low point.

Based on the number of freshmen and the list of returning players and the noise we are making in the portal, my guess is at least three of the returners will not be returning.

Masslive reporting the UMass vs West Virginia game is part of a doubleheader with FAU vs St. Bonaventure in the other. Towards the end of the article.

Good find, thank you.

Also, from that article, Springfield is foolishly optimistic that they're going to get a top-notch game again. Credit city officials for trying, but unless Charlie Baker really starts to change the greedy ways, the NCAA is not going to want to put a premier game in a second rate venue when they could put it in a top notch facility in a big city.

Wow. FAU would be a big draw. Could be a top 5 team next year.

I wish they'd move the HOF Tip Off classic back to Springfield. I know Mohegan is a draw and the place holds 4K more than MMC, but I wouldn't exactly call it a top notch facility. Plenty of early season tournaments/games are played in shitty arenas/gyms. I know a lot of this is offset by location, but still one can dream. Maybe having MGM here now can help offset the draw that is Mohegan. This is in addition to the namesake, you know the Hall of Fame.
