It might need some adjusting, but this effort seems to be heading in the right direction IMO.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

That's my fear also. NILs will kill off college basketball as we know it. Or maybe there will eventually be P5s as NCAA 1 and mid level as 2.
This is exactly what is going to happen like football did in the late 70s.. Div I-A and Div I-AA. We need to get into one of the football conferences, even if it is CUSA or MAC. The Only conference outside of P5/G5 football that will have shot at getting into top tier is the Big East, but I wouldnt guarantee that. I expect Big East to add Gonzaga and Saint Marys soon..

I think the NIL is going to face regulation soon. Not sure how enforcement will work, but the language says NIL can’t be used in recruiting. It is very nebulous right now. Not sure if it can be reigned in or regulated without legal challenges.

Might not be the only variable. Pretty sure he could get more in other places.

Are you saying the only reason he is coming back is because he can the most money from UMass? If the collective is offering the most that is great. What is the average deal for players in P6?

skizz wrote: Thu Mar 23, 2023 1:44 pm Some kids leave for NIL and some leave for playing time, for DD it's probably the latter. He hasn't had the career so far to gain bigger NIL dollars and by transferring he's hoping to gain that playing time and thus increases NIL dollars. I will say on that list there are some programs in which his NIL will probably increase even with the same amount of playing time. If you're playing for a decent school in Texas, and SMU and UTEP are that, he can make significantly more NIL money with his personality and that it's Texas.
My man!

I thought it was pretty clear that NIL was his motivation.

As for PT, yeah, he only got 19.6 minutes per game this season, but that was still a 63% increase over the season before. And with Brandon now out of the way, I would think he'd easily get more with us next season.
His or his father?

I meant Dyondre's but it's a fair point that his father could be playing a significant role in the decision-making process. I don't know for sure.

I was picturing Miami and all the money they threw at their teams this year.

DD is at Arkansas State this weekend. I wonder if they have "hedge fund guys."

People that age are too young not to understand the cost of treating people who believed in you like toilet paper.

They wipe their butts with people who gave them a chance.

Their advisors shouldn't be so stupid, but too often they are.
