He played games in conference. I don't think that is allowed for the redshirt.

My understanding is that you don't get a redshirt year if you've played more than a third of the games scheduled (11 or more). That may be too simplistic but that's what I've heard.

Re: Injuries and the rest of the 2022-23 season
Here’s what I found about medical redshirts:
“According to the NCAA rules, in order to be granted a medical redshirt, the athlete must:
Suffer an injury that is deemed “season-ending”
Their injury must occur before the halfway point of the season
Not participate in more than 30% of the season’s games
It is important to note that the injury has to be season-ending. A season ending injury results when an athlete suffers a major injury in which they will be sidelined for several months. However, it is ultimately up to the athlete to decide if they want to go through with surgery or medical repairs as opposed to playing through the injury. There are many injuries throughout a collegiate season that could qualify you for a medical redshirt depending on when they occurred.”

We have 30 games on the schedule so 30% is 9 games. Noah has played in 11. He will not qualify for a medical redshirt unless we win the A10 tourney and play 3 games in the NCAA tourney. Let's just say he's not getting one.

Pardon my naivety, but why would he redshirt (forgetting about the fact that he won't qualify)? I'm pretty sure he has one more year of eligibility due to the Covid bonus year. It seems like the plan for him would be to use the bonus year (here or elsewhere, but hopefully here), and then try to sign a pro deal somewhere.

Hey guys. We all want what’s best for the program and the coaches and players. Let’s remain positive! Give coach an opportunity to work through this. Judge the team after season has completed. I have a feeling this team will peak again for A10 tournament. Stay in the fight guys!!
