Agreed, and that might be the most frustrating part about his situation.
Everyone else has improved IMO, especially the other freshmen. It must be ten times more frustrating for the coaching staff.
RJ has improved immensely, Keon moderately, Gapare seemingly zero. I'd be interested to know what the coaches are telling him, if he does the whole dribble around for 10 seconds and then turn it over or shoot it off the side of the backboard, are they just like "great job, you'll get 'em next time", or does he just not listen/execute what they're telling him?
As much as I would like to see Gapare get more time under his belt, he does need the season to end badly. I think he has the most upside of anyone on the team except Luis, but he needs a reset. Take a month off, then hit the weights and drills including [and especially] footwork.

I honestly think he is not listening or is unable to do better at this point in his development. The reactions by the coaches when he makes those mistakes are what make me think this. I think every player is allowed to use their talents within the scheme. Kante won't and shouldn’t take threes or be a ball handler, for example. Gapare has the skill to do many things, he just doesn’t know when to use them. He tries to dominate or showcase every time he gets the ball, IMO. So, I think a lot of talk with h8m when errors are made are likely “what made you think you could be successful doing what you did” and then suggest what might be a better alternative.
