DD missed on two shots but was fouled on several other attempts so his 0 for 2 is misleading.

What a fun game. I thought we were very well prepared for the Princeton offense and the back door cuts weren't that much of a factor. Leaving guys open in the corner continues to be a problem but I swear that it's fixable. Quinn shocked me. He was much better than I was expecting. Wildens and
Isaac played him tough but he was just too tall and made some hard shots. He also got the benefit of a few calls, but this isn't a game where I'm going to go nuts over the officiating.

On the plus side, 53 points in the second half was nice to see. Guys made clutch shots time and time again. No need to go into detail on individuals; RJ, Rashool and Matt led the way, but we got a combined 19 and 9 from Wildens/Isaac. Lot of other contributors as well. Burton got his 20 points but he was 5/15 from the field. Also, only 7 turnovers. I'd have to research it but I'm not sure I've seen that low a number in a long time.

Going to watch the replay on NESN to hear what the announcers had to say. One last thing - I hope RJ's miracle shot in the first half makes ESPN's top10.

BIG WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully this will be the impetus we need for strong second half of confernece play.

Luis is a force and Diggins is beginning to show what he is capable of. Gapare obviously wasnt ready for college hoops this year even though I think he has a chance to be a very good player. Cross impresses me with his all around game although I wish when he gets the ball in the corner he takes the shot more often instead of driving to the hoop.

Im not going to be making any predictions here, but am excited to see if they can play well again on Saturday and get the W. If so, next weds game at GMason is huge.. a win there and look out A10, this team may go on a roll..

Two other things of note.. First, I am a big believer in a 9 man rotation as I think it keeps more guys in the flow of the game and second, i want to see more zone defense. Looked like we played zone on three possessions and it looked effective. When Gapare, Dominquez and Luis are all on the floor at the same time they have the makings of a very good zone D.

I thought every spot on the floor played well, pg play was very solid, Rahsool and Keon didn't turn the ball over, RJ and Matt were huge, and I thought Wildens and Isaac were very active in the paint. DD's energy definitely lifts the team and last night while he didn't take many shots from the floor, he was money at the line and that pass to Wildens for the dunk was awesome. BM was also very solid

Loved the focus and energy, and credit to the staff for preparing them well. Huge at the FT line as well

Enjoyable, well deserved win

RJ might just be our best player even when Noah is healthy. He’s probably our best overall defender, and one of our best 3 offensive players.

We just need to keep him here, and the best way to do that is for folks to join the UMass NIL collective.

RJ is the best player on this roster - period.

If he stays next year, i think he stays for the whole 4.

How nice it was last night to have such knowledgeable and prepared announcers compared to some of the donkeys we have been subject to in away games in recent weeks.

I was very impressed by that win. Given our history against Richmond, I didn't think we stood much of a chance, but we beat them in just about every way possible. We shot better from the floor, better at the line (although both teams were very good), more points in the paint, more points off turnovers, we won the offensive AND defensive rebounding battle, more fast break points, and were even in bench points. Not a dominant effort, but a complete effort. Everyone contributed and they did the little things.

The weather looks fine for a 4:00 tip on Saturday vs Duquesne. Get your butts to the Mullins Center!

Yes, the weather looks good for Saturday; the team deserves a great home court advantage…. not sure if the students are back yet, or if they are interested? Hopefully marketing can come up with some ideas to fill that area behind the hoop…. how about giving free tickets to all the people holding cardboard signs on street corners in the area? I guess you would also have to give them a ride and some cash…. they never seem interested in food or a job

Agreed!

Hope they can go on a run. At least get back to the middle of the A-10 pack.

Will be interesting to see if guys like Diggins and Luis keep their momentum when Noah comes back.
