How nice it was last night to have such knowledgeable and prepared announcers compared to some of the donkeys we have been subject to in away games in recent weeks.
Jay Burnham wears to much eyeliner....and his "For three, Indeed!!!" gets pretty old. On the radio, Adam Frenier is like listening to nails on a 50 year old chalkboard.
Jay is a truly first rate announcer and UMass is lucky to have him. This is a bad take.

Luis emerged a bit late as a recruiting target for the bigger schools, a function, I suspect, of the portal and additional covid year eligibility making it so that a number of highly regarded 2022 kids still hadn't signed late. Interestingly, he was offered by McCall in February of last year, which at the time was his biggest offer. He later got offers from Rutgers and Kansas State and took official visits to Temple and Bona. He got a very late KState offer and then visited UMass, to which he committed (before, evidently, taking a visit to KSU, though I'm not sure if he ever was planning one). It's funny because KState has had the best turnaround in America under its first year head coach and is now fifth in the nation after being picked to finish dead last and Jerome Tang will almost definitely win national coach of the year. But RJ is here and man is he a hooper.

Horrendous take. He's a terrific PxP guy, who has a deep appreciation for Western Ma and UMass. I frequently choose to listen to him on the radio over whatever other announcers are calling our games.

Funny just in that KState during a coaching change seemed like it was in a really bad spot but things have changed mighty quickly and it speaks to Tang's eye for talent that he's been able to get good right away. It's clear he saw something in Luis. Thankfully Frank saw it first and offered.

I, personally, would like to hear it a lot more often.

After watching the replay I caught a couple of things you miss when you are at the game. First, John Carroll can be the color guy every game in my opinion. He knows so much about BB in general and he also has vast knowledge of New England hoops. I think Jay does a good job. When you listen to the clowns doing some of our away games, how can you not appreciate our announcers.

As for the game, as others have mentioned, DD only took 2 shots but he had a huge impact on the game. He made 2 big defensive plays at the end of the game. The steal in front of the Richmond bench and his block after a real dogfight under the Richmond basket were keys to salting the game away.
I'm really happy for him. He finally looks like he is enjoying playing basketball.

Maybe I missed it, but does anybody know the reason why TJ didn't play? I've seen "injury", but nothing more specific than that.
