Really good effort to start and better overall on defense. For those who love to hate on a certain player, they went from up 8 to down 7 for Gapare’s first 10 minutes on the floor.

Liked how they played that first half, energy and defensive effort was there. Missed a bunch of makeable shots, but everyone looks engaged and playing hard. Need a nice hot streak of shooting and I think we win this

Despite Gapare being 0 for 5, every single one of his shots has been in and out and I think that this is his best game in a long time thus far, the shots will come. He is being more defensive minded tonight and as a result I think that increases his confidence on the offensive end.

I beg to differ, his shot selection is terrible, he needs to tone it down. He’s also blown his defensive assignments a few times leading to open shots for UR, such as at the end of the half.

The teams looks pretty focused and more comfortable with what they're trying to do.

Little more defensive detail this half. Gotta think we'll start getting some bounces on O at some point

He's fine. Pressing a little b/c his dad's here courtside. He looks engaged. Only a matter of time

0 points, 0 rebounds, fouled a 3-point shooter and I hold my breath every time he dribbles. We must be watching two different games.

Good start but then Richmond’s offense kept doing what it does and we had some breakdowns. Offensively not much rhythm for us. Feels like you can tell what team has some dudes who have played a lot of minutes together in particular system vs another team who has not. And then Richmond’s newcomers have picked things up pretty well.

Gapare had a couple of nice blocks but he also got lost giving up some open threes, fouled a three point shooter, and can’t buy a basket. In other words, he was a freshman out there. Still think you need to give him minutes to develop but he’s not there yet.

Hopefully the defense becomes a bit more disciplined and Luis, Cross and Kante do enough on the offensive end. DD getting hot would be nice too — he was a bit of a now show in that first half.

Not sure I see it, but I’d be happy to be proven wrong.

Thought Diggins had a good half at both ends. Missed him when he went out.

I thought that he wasn’t bringing much value in the last couple of games, looking a bit lost, where the game is still very quick for him. But today he looks comfortable, a couple of solid blocks, took a charge, created some fouls. He’s such a raw and new player to the game, I don’t need box score numbers, I’ll take small progress and confidence with him.

Tafara plays a lot of help D , and sometimes it draws him away from his man, but his shot blocking ability is good. He's being more aggressive, I like it. He'll get there

RJ looks real good tonite, I like him in the starting lineup

RJ should never not start a game for the rest of his career at UMass.
