Game 15, 2022-23: at GW (1/7)

Post by chdavis295 » Fri Dec 23, 2022 11:49 am

Getting a jump on this...

While we haven't kicked off conference play just yet, wanted to get the word out to those who may be attending this game. Prior to the game, The Massachusetts Collective and UMass Athletics, with the support of the UMass DC Alumni, will be hosting a pregame gathering right across the street from the Smith Center. Dropping the link below, but would love to round up as big a crowd as possible for this one.

I for one was bummed to not make it back to MA for the Harvard game, so hoping to recreate that environment in DC.

Hope to see you all there!

Nice, am excited this is on national TV for once.

GW lost a heartbreaker to Washington State last night, ball just took a bad bounce on the last play and ended up in the hands of Wash St's 3 point specialist for a near buzzer beater. Will be interesting how they do against a very talented but underacheiving Pepperdine squad.

in another thread someone questioned what's wrong with the A10. Last's night's GW game gives an example. Bad bounce and a 2-point loss in a game that looked like a GW win (with a 1-point GW lead and seconds left, the Washington State player dribbled it off his foot, GW scrambled after it and it bounced to WSU's best shooter who won it). The announcer mentioned Dean, a key player for GW, was in his first game back from injury. Dayton, VCU, and UMass (I don't know about others) have losses they probably wouldn't have but for injuries. Davidson 7-5 record has 3 losses that were by 1 basket. A bad season for the A10 that could have been a lot better except for such things.

There is one: https://www.connectumassalumni.com/hub/ ... 1671892734

And regardless, here’s a suggestion - Do something positive about it. These are largely volunteer organizations where the folks running them put in countless, often thankless hours.

San Diego.

Born and raised in DC/Maryland so I was lucky enough to see our boys when they played GW and Mason. Only thing I can hope for now is that we make the tournament and get shipped to Sacramento region. And still holding hope that the A10/Mountain West tournament ever becomes a thing

When I moved to Phoenix I wanted to keep a presence in Mass so we bought a place in Dennisport when the prices were low.

And we're officially onto GW with a huge win vs SLU under our belts.

Another reminder that there is a pre-game gathering across from the arena and discounted tickets available for the UMass designated section. Get your tickets early because the offer ends before gameday.

Hope to see/meet some of you there.
