Who Should Start?
12 games in should be a big enough sample to run this exercise. Who should start?

Stats.... whatever. Don't know if either of those stat lines are his, but Brandon should not be starting, but in the end if he is playing "appropriate minutes" i don't really care.

Re: Who Should Start?
Originally I did not care who started. I figured within 4-5 minutes BM would be out and DD, Luis or Gapare would be subbing in for him - after watching the past 5-6 games and seeing how flat they are to open games I think its time DD starts. I hate to put all the blame on BM as I know not having Noah has been a big hit for this offense but when you start BM and Diggs the opposing team now only has to cover three guys. Starting league play on the road they cannot afford to get down 8-10 points early like they have been lately. I still think BM has a role on this team but it certainly isn't as a starter.

Re: Who Should Start?
That's kind of why I did this. They say it doesn't matter who starts the game it's who finishes.. while true, we have seen sluggish offensive play to start the game and to open the second half. We get behind early and have to claw our way back.. even when Noah was healthy. It may not be just subbing one guy.. maybe it's 2 guys. I think we know who our top 8ish guys are at this point.

Umass was up 6-0 and still had the lead when Brandon was subbed out. Not sure if this is the best game for your numbers

The answer is Noah, TJ, Cross, DD, Gapare,
Re: Who Should Start?
I actually thought BM was playing the top of zone well and crashing the boards in the first half yesterday. I would also agree that he shouldn’t get as much time as he does but at least yesterday he wasn’t an issue. I’m way more concerned that our other 2 PGs can’t shoot

This is definitely our top scoring/potential lineup. I’d rather save that one for when we need points in the 2nd half. Frank isn’t going to stop playing 8-10 guys.
Re: Who Should Start?
We shouldn't even be having this conversation, you have to twist yourself into knots to find some weird justification to start Brandon over DD. On this offensively challenged UMass team DD should be getting 25-30 minutes per game.TheInsider wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 7:51 am 12 games in should be a big enough sample to run this exercise.
