Re: Game 10, 2022-23: Hofstra (12/11)
Sounds like some fun events. I hope you guys get good turnouts.
This is a tough one. Another game that isn't a big name, but a mid-major that's expected to contend for their conference championship, and is around 100 in the rankings (129 Kenpom, 86 Net). Sunday at 7:00 is a weird time for a college basketball game, but they need to get up for this and play a full 40 if they want to win.

Re: Game 10, 2022-23: Hofstra (12/11)
The key to this game is very simple. Their best player, Estrada, missed their last game (Wednesday) with an ankle injury. He's a 6'3 athletic guard who averages 21.7 points, 5.3 boards, 4 assists and shoots 43% from 3.
If he can't play they are a much weaker team and it more than offsets the loss of Noah. If he's close to 100% it becomes a very tough game.

Not hosting any watch parties in the actual city where the game is being played? Damn
Who here from NYC is going to the game?

I was thinking about making the ~four hour trip from elsewhere in the state of NY but I really want to see Noah play and don't want to spend the time and money to watch us without our superstar. I am excited to watch our full squad in person sometime soon.

You’re welcome to. We can add it to the list if you have a place you’ll be pregame. Trying to get UMass Fans together anywhere and everywhere!inthescoop wrote: Fri Dec 09, 2022 4:26 pm Not hosting any watch parties in the actual city where the game is being played? Damn

Is there anyway to watch the game besides on YES? I was hoping NESN+ might pick it up, but I don't see it on their schedule.
Give WBB more money.

UMass alumni program is the worst part of UMass - there is no networking or any type of school culture after you graduate.umasscollective wrote: Fri Dec 09, 2022 8:32 pmYou’re welcome to. You can walk around NYC and see a sports bar dedicated to Iowa State, Marshall, Houston, literally any P5 sports school? but of course UMass has nothing. Professor Thom’s is no longer open and that was a Michigan bar where UMass fans would go to watch games which is pretty embarrassing.
The lack of folks attending games says it all. UMass folks are not interested in following UMass sports after they graduate. Maybe that can change if we join the Big East one day.

Sounds like you should be opening a bar my friend. U could name it "The Scoop". Hire a few UMass HRTA grads to run the place!inthescoop wrote: Sat Dec 10, 2022 10:57 amUMass alumni program is the worst part of UMass - there is no networking or any type of school culture after you graduate.umasscollective wrote: Fri Dec 09, 2022 8:32 pmYou’re welcome to. Time to Win
Re: Game 10, 2022-23: Hofstra (12/11)
We can somewhat make up for the Lowell loss with a win tomorrow. I'll go along with whoever Frank starts, but if it were me I would alter the lineup a bit. Here's my starting 5:
Levesque
Gapare
Cross
Weeks
Keon (I doubt Noah plays)
Who finishes depends on how these 5 play as a unit.

They don't expect that Noah will be available before 12 - 31.
Re: Game 10, 2022-23: Hofstra (12/11)
What do we know about Diggins? Is he out for Hofstra? If so, I wonder if Cronin will get minutes at point.
The loss to Lowell and the injury to Noah may turn out a positive in the long run - as long as he comes back healthy in conference. It will give Keon and Rasool (if his ankle isn't too bad) the opportunity to get some valuable experience.
Trying to keep my maroon-colored glasses on.

Hofstra's top guy, Estrada missed their game this week with an ankle injury so hopefully he is out again today as well. Hofstra looks like they play a lot of 3 and 4 guard lineups. I think we see a lot of this lineup
Cross
Dominquez/Gapare
Luis
Weeks
Thompson
