USF beat St Joes tonight 75-62. Hope we don’t overlook this team. They have some talent on their roster and are still finding their identity.

glad USF got a win before playing us. doesn't matter if you're 0-8 and suck, you're still playing with a chip on your shoulder each night to get that first win.

Next up for USF is St. Francis (2 PM Friday), so they'll almost certainly be on a 2-game win streak by UMass game time.

If they continue to shoot 40% from 3, rank third in the a10 for rebounding and blocked shots, they will be competing for a top 4 finish.

I'm not looking at this as an easy game. Always tough on the other team's court. Their center (Tchewa) is probably the biggest player we will face all year (7'0, 280). If they park him under the basket on D we will need to be creative to get easy shots. I'm looking at this as a low scoring game.

The South Carolina transfer, Bryant has missed the last 4 games. He's one of their best players but they've won their last 2 without him.

They only start 1 guy over 6'6, and off the bench they have 1 guy at 6'7 and 1 guy at 6'8 who get any significant playing time.

From the game notes ^^^

UMass is 18th in country in bench points at 34.5 ppg

Quite a difference from the ladies.

Don't put too much stock in overall height. If you are good at boxing out, you can negate height advantages pretty easily.

I do agree with another poster who believes this will be a fairly low scoring game. If Umass can push the ball and the pace even a little, they should be able to win this one.

Some nice weather down here in Tampa, looking at 80 and sunny most of the day. Hopefully the team can avoid the Tampa distractions and not end up at the Space odyssey or Mons before the game.

I’ll be at the Hard Rock pool all day if any of you maniacs are down here and plan on mixing in some gambling. Already made a booze run to the gas station, what a state.

Great place, went there last year and stayed at the new hotel across the street. Might go there tomorrow night
