I know what you're saying but isn't it more important who is in towards the end of the game rather than who starts? Looks like saving Kante for the end is the way to go at this point.

I think he's in there because he's been our best FT shooter this year and he has better offense that Wildens. Wildens can be more intimidating on D but Kante is OK defensively and has been a better all around player thus far.

Helluva win. Going small down the stretch made a big difference as some folks have pointed out. Ball pressure was that much better and they still held their own on the glass (Yes Scoop -- this was a game where their rebounding was awesome  ) I think we know Frank likes playing big, so it was good to see him go against what might be his natural inclinations.

Still have issues at the free throw line, but turnovers were cut down quite a bit and they were much better on the boards. Funny thing is I don't think anyone played particularly well offensively but they all played HARD even if they were tired. And to top it off with the kind of finish that gets people talking is great.

I think Frank loves to play big.. thus way his kid starts. But he is also used to playing in P5 leagues.. going smaller where Cross can play the 4 works at the Mid-Major level. I do like the fact that when it counted he shortened the bench and knew what line-up to go with

I was in and out all afternoon and was only able to catch bits and pieces on the radio. I put it on tv when I got home and UMass was down 61-56. I had to leave the game to do something and the game ended.

I had it VCR’d and decided 8) to watch the replay in its entirety rather catch the score on my phone.

My jaw is still on the floor. What an exhilarating win! T

Cross, Kante, and of course Noah. Crazy stat of the night…TJ was 4-5 from 3 point land but only 1-4 from the line.

How many times did Cross rebound his own missed shots. Love his tenacity!

Same with Noah…despite being harassed all night, he kept at it and kept his cool.

On to the finals! 8)

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the rotation shortened for the championship game. I think Frank knew that 3 in 4 without a true identity yet meant to play as many guys as possible. He’s mentioned a few times now that he’s still trying to figure this team out and they are still trying to figure him out. Probably why his son gets so much run, at least he knows what he’s getting there.

Just watched the game and what a finish. Really love the tenacity of this team, when they develop more familiarity with each other the offense should click and the defense should be the best we’ve seen in many years. Love Frank giving Sool some quality minutes today, he along with Noah, TJ, Cross and Kante/Leveque are a solid group. Luis, Thompson, Gapare, Martin and Dominguez are a nice bench who can all provide a lift in a game.

My favorite all time Minuteman is Harper Williams but Noah has solidified himself as 1A. I will miss him when his time runs out, he is the epitome of the term warrior.

Soft as hell from Frank. Stay off social I’d you can’t handle live reactions of fans watching the game

When UMass hired Frank we knew what we were getting. The guy does things his way, right or wrong. Considering where we were before I’ll take it warts and all. I assume he’s talking about criticism of Brandon’s playing time, but maybe not. But anytime the coach’s son is on the team those comments are going to come, Frank knows that.

I like Brandon on the floor for 10 minutes or so, he’s a tough rebounder and defender. His offense should be “right place right time” and not jumpers, based on what we’ve seen so far.

Soft would be calling out a coach for his line-ups then getting appalled if he actually responds to the criticism to protect his guys. But Brandon took too many shots and I'm sure he knows that.

^ yup. I think Frank is trying to also get the fans behind this team and kill any negativity. People can say and post what they want, and its all fair game. And he can also post and say what he wants to protect his team. Neither side should be upset

Frank pushes and expects a lot from his guys, but from what we've heard, always has theur back. I like it
