One of the last four in, or next four out/#1 seed in the NIT.
Re: Expectations for 2022/2023 Season
I'll wait on a vote until the final roster is set and we see a schedule. My hope right now is that we can be in the top 75 in RPI. Last year in the Ken Pom ratings we finished #185, which was behind Fordham. No more of that.

That's a good way to think of success for UMass. I think baseline, we should be a top 100 team year over year. I'd take top 100 next year and then steady improvement from there.
Re: Expectations for 2022/2023 Season
My vote was for 3-4 in A-10, NCAA bubble, NIT bid, but as a Texas Longhorn fan, I should know better than to expect immediate success from a team with so many transfers. I guess I'm drinking the Maroon Kool-Aid right now!

Top half of the A10 and a NIT bid would be a success to me. Its a build. And i agree we have to wait to see the final roster. I think the twins here could develop into serious matchup problems.

Re: Expectations for 2022/2023 Season
I expect to be looked at as a NCAA bubble/NIT team. The talent has already been upgraded, and we know that the coaching staff got a pretty significant upgrade. We all love Preston Santos, but he barely played this year and missed all of last year. He's being replaced by Matt Cross, who by all indications, is a major talent. We also lost Garcia, but he was under utilized, or poorly utilized, and is being replaced by Rahsool Diggins. He didn't do much in one season at UConn, but the talent is certainly there.
I'm optimistic about this team, not expecting a top 25 ranking and elite 8 run or anything, but with the talent infusion and most importantly, Frank Martin at the helm, I see no reason to expect another lackluster 8-10th place A10 finish and 150 KenPom/Net/RPI.

If there was an option for 4th-5th in the A10 with an NIT bid I'd select it.

^ Same. Obviously depends on the schedule too for postseason/NIT. But either way I feel pretty confident about being top 5 in the A-10. I don't think Martin gets outcoached in the A-10 like McCall tended to do, nor does the team regress in A-10 play like the team did under Kellogg.

Top 75 defensive efficiency rating which will probably translate to a .500 or better record in the A-10. Beyond that, I have no idea, too many moving parts. Noah is definitely the constant here.
Re: Expectations for 2022/2023 Season
I'm waiting for about a week. I think the roster will be pretty much set by then. Sunday is the deadline for the portal waiver.
Re: Expectations for 2022/2023 Season
Lots of moving parts here so getting the chemistry right and rotations clicking will take some time. Not expecting an A10 title right away, but would like to just see a disciplined, defensively tough team battling every game. And some sort of gameplan against teams. The talent level has been upgraded so if they play hard, the wins will come

Top 4 in the A10.
Supposedly Frank Martin is good coach, and he has some guys with solid A10 as well as Power 5 experience. If the team jells, they should have a good year.
